Tomorrow, August 12, you’ll be able to walk into an AT&T store and purchase the newest BlackBerry device, the Torch 9800. But before you decide which device you’ll use for the next two years, we should take some time to discuss the ins and outs of the device. iPhone TIPS: Song for the Steve WOZ 60th Birthday
I like Steve Wozniak aka the Woz co-founder of Apple computers and I like this song by up and coming coming YouTube singer Jonathan Mann. To celebrate Woz’s 60th birthday today, his wife Janet commissioned this song as a gift. “That’s Woz,” is sung by Jonathan Mann, an up-and-coming YouTube singing star who is singing a song a day and posting them to his YouTube channel and his Song A Day website

Evernote 3.3.8 for iPhone: improved offline notebook support, added mysterious UI changes
I’m not quite sure of what to make of this latest Evernote update. The cloud-based notetaking service has improved its offline Notebook support (the interface is cleaner and it’s much clearer about which notebooks are fully synced), but as a basic (read: cheapskate) user of the service, I was hoping for a little more detail about the text note improvements

PhotoForge 1.95 for iPhone: now actually supports Fast App Switching
PhotoForge ($2.99 – review here ), the little Photoshop-like app that can, has been updated to support iOS 4 fast app switching for the second time . Apparently, there was something about the last update that didn’t quite stick, or was submitted wrong, and they’re here to fix things up. I loaded the app up and can confirm that fast app switching works as it should, although I can’t comment too much on the other changes. I do most of my photo editing from within Camera+ or on my Mac now. I can’t help but be hopeful about this update being called v1.95, though.

Stop Trying To Download The BBM Update… It’s Been Pulled
Update: The BBM download site appears to be working again. BlackBerry Help is says you can download BlackBerry Messenger 5.0.1.38 via the following link: http://www.blackberry.com/select/bbm/download.shtml It looks like Research in Motion has decided that all BlackBerry users trying to download BlackBerry Messenger 5.0.1.38 simultaneously was not such a great idea after all and has temporarily pulled the update to arguably the best mobile IM client of all time. Either this was the case, or, BBM was prematurely released. Rumor has it that 5.0.1.38 will return, later this week, via BlackBerry App World. Orange Launches Mobile Volunteering Project
In today’s modern society, the common claim from most people is ‘we are too busy’ as if life is somehow so hectic that it is virtually impossible to complete all the things we have to do, let alone all the things we would like to do. The impression is that despite the technology, we live in a world where the resource drain on our time is just too much, and as such certain activities suffer. The truth of the matter is, we are all actually in control of our own situations, and a few changes here and there would make a world of difference, it just takes a re-aligning of priorities. However, the technology we have day by day in our pockets, bags and purses can also be used in a multitude of ways to help us serve others who need help on a regular basis, without making too many drastic changes to the way we live our lives
