New Ricoh CX3 compact digital camera sports back-illuminated CMOS sensor and HD-movie capable
Sharing the same 10x optical zoom lens and 3-inch 920k dot VGA LCD with its predecessor CX2 , the CX3 comes to the fore with new features such as 1280 × 720p HD movie recording, high & low luminance priority settings for “dynamic range double shot mode”, and a ‘Pets’ scene mode that “turns off the flash, AF auxiliary light, and operation sounds to avoid startling the pet”. However, maybe the biggest highlight is the back-illuminated CMOS sensor and enhanced noise reduction that Ricoh claims provided CX3 with improved image quality for low-light shootings. It will be available in Japan as of February 19

T-Mobile’s Dark Project Returns; Adds Hype to HTC HD2, Moto Zeppelin Launch?
We’ve seen T-Mobile’s Dark Project before. Our last encounter with this mysterious “project” was back in October , when the so-called “Project Black” was building up hype for what was supposed to be huge game-changers. At the time we thought it may be launches for cool new handsets and new programs, when in actuality it was just a few rate plan changes. They were still pivotal, but nothing groundbreaking and certainly not worth all the hype the mystery gave it.

Comcast smears the XFINITY brand across all its services
Apparently worried its On Demand Online project would suffer the shame of a silly name all by its lonely , Comcast has rebranded its cable TV, internet and phone services as Xfinity TV, Xfinity Internet and Xfinity Voice. Other than the name not much is changing (@ComcastCares will still be doing its thing on Twitter), although the rollout of the new branding (starting next week, the first 11 markets include Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C., Chicago, Portland, Seattle, Hartford, Augusta, Chattanooga, parts of the Bay Area and San Francisco) should sync up with 50mbps or high speeds becoming available. Of course, if those slick flame colored letter started showing up on TV repair guy trucks at the same time as a truly revolutionary new DVR software package instead of the slightly spruced up version we’ll be getting over the next few months , then they could call it anything they want to. JooJoo tablet shipping this month, full Flash support and app store at launch
The iPad may have taken the media by storm, but the JooJoo , formerly known as the CrunchPad, is back, and hot on Apple’s heels. The JooJoo’s starting off full production, that’s right and maker Fusion Garage has announced that the product is set to start shipping this month. Fusion Garage CEO Chandra revealed that they’ve teamed up with Malaysia’s largest OEM, CSL Group, to cover the tablet manufacturing costs; in return CSL will get a slice of the revenue pie. And read this, it’s confirmed that the tablet will feature full Flash support at launch, and even HD Flash content once Flash 10.1 is released. The other thing? A web app store is in the works, Chandra claiming “We have a bigger ‘app store’ than Apple because we have the full Internet,”. Apparently JooJoo means along the lines of “magical” in African – which is how Steve Jobs exactly described the iPad. And they cost the same at $499 each. The JooJoo may have a larger 12-inch screen compared to the iPad’s 9.7-incher, but who knows what Apple may concoct up – something larger, and even more “magical”? FUSION GARAGE MOVES INTO FULL PRODUCTION OF BREAKTHROUGH JOOJOO Tablet Innovative Manufacturing Agreement and Investment from CSL Group Helps Reinvent Consumer Electronics Business Model SINGAPORE, February 3, 2010 – Fusion Garage today announced that its category-creating JooJoo Internet tablet has moved into full production with initial shipments expected to reach consumers at the end of February. Helping fuel the JooJoo’s arrival and Fusion Garage’s next phase of corporate growth is an innovative manufacturing agreement and strategic investment from mobile device OEM and distribution giant CSL Group of Malaysia.

Did You Get The Memo About The T&A Reports? (NSFW)
Did you get the memo about the T&A reports? It’s just that we are putting a boob note or an ass note on all of our T&A reports now. A boob note if it’s a T report and a butt note if it’s an A. So if you could go ahead and try to remember to do that from now on, that’d be great

kululua Airline’s Rebranding Is Like Aviation 101
By Andrew Liszewski If you’re ever flying on South Africa’s kulula airline you’ll never have to worry about hearing an intercom announcement asking if there’s a pilot on board, because their recent rebranding will leave every passenger with a basic knowledge of aviation and aircraft. It’s rather clever and educational (I had no idea where the black box was stashed) though something tells me it would never fly in certain countries (no pun intended) because who knows how this knowledge could be used.
