Sony Ericsson Walkman Android phone coming this month?
Sony Ericsson Walkman phones were very popular a few years ago, but now the Walkman brand is pretty much dead (with only two Walkman handsets announced in the last 12 months). But Sony Ericsson will apparently try to bring back the glory days, helped by Google’s Android OS : the SEMC Blog is reporting that the Swedish-Japanese joint venture is getting ready to launch a Walkman Android handset this month. It’s said that the Walkman Android phone resembles the Xperia X10 Mini , featuring a 2.6 inch touchscreen display, 5.1MP camera (without LED flash), changeable covers, and “a powerful Walkman player.” The handset runs either Android 1.6 or Android 2.1 – I hope it’s the latter, really. There aren’t any other details about the Walkman Android handset at the moment (the image above does not show the real device, it’s just a concept phone found at Esato )

Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit, New alternative charging solution debuts
At a media conference held today in the Kenyan capital Nairobi, Nokia unveiled an alternative charging solution built especially for people with limited access to electricity. Providing free and environmentally friendly electricity for mobile phones, the Nokia Bicycle Charger Kit consists of a charger and dynamo, as well as a holder to secure the phone to the bike. When the kit is installed, the dynamo – a small electrical generator – uses the movement of the wheels to charge the handset through the standard 2mm charging jack used in most Nokia mobile phones. With innovative bike charger, people get even more freedom to use their Nokia without worrying about battery life. Bicycles are the most widespread means of transport in many markets around the world

Wynn Telecom to Set-Up Manufacturing Facility in India
These days the Indian mobile phone market is flooded with non-branded mobile phone OEMs like Lava Mobile, Karbon Mobile, microMax mobile etc. These companies are giving the big guys a run for their money because of their feature rich phones that are available with a low price tag. Initially people use to get China made mobile phones but after the DoT went after them, the target market of Chinese phones have changed their preference and are buying phones from these guys, which are cheap, feature rich, look cool, have valid IMEI numbers and DoT does not ban them LOL!! Now one more OEM, Wynn Telecom is jumping into this game and has set-up up a brand expansion, supply chain and manufacturing budget of USD 107 million for the Indian market. This India based manufacturer currently has a manufacturing facility in Shenzen, China from where they import their handsets. There new facility will be based in Himachal Pradesh and will churn out 1.2 million handsets every month
