OS 6 quick tip: disable Twitter integration with Social Feeds
As I’m playing around with the BlackBerry Torch, I’m noticing a ton of features that I simply love. The Social Feeds section is one in particular that I liked right off the bat. It integrates a ton of your social networking and instant messaging applications into one easy to use inbox

Nokia Ireland shows bank of Ireland App
I visit the Ovi App store at least once a day ( I know call me sad) but I have noticed that in the last few months I have noticed here has been an increase in the number of useful apps on the Ovi store and I am happy about that, and that should increase with Qt and the powerful N8 coming. via zomgitscj.com

Microsoft Arc Keyboard Review
Keyboard technology has been around a pretty long time. We’re not sure how long exactly, but if you are curious then you can always google it. When it comes to computer keyboards, there’s really not a whole lot of room for more innovation beyond adding more fancy buttons and shiny lights. At least, that’s what we thought before we were able to test out Microsoft’s new white Arc Keyboard .

Review: iSkin enigma case for iPhone 3GS
The $100 iSkin enigma is to iPhone cases as James Bond is to secret agents. They’re both built well and look great, but they both have a tendency to indulge. In designing the enigma, iSkin made the same mistake that Apple keeps making in their iPod Touch designs: a shiny metal surface that can’t help but attract fingerprints. iSkin seems to think of this design element as a set of “metal accents”, but I think it’s rather akin to putting umlauts on every single vowel in a German word. It’s übërkïll, and I think it rather cheapens the look of this otherwise excellent premium case

The new wave of prepaid BlackBerry services
Last time we visited this topic, I wondered who needed a prepaid BlackBerry . That came a little less than four months ago, and at the time there weren’t a ton of options. Only two prepaid carriers, MetroPCS and Boost Mobile , actively carried BlackBerry devices. Others offered them, but there wasn’t that level of direct carrier support — i.e., you could bring a BlackBerry to some prepaid carriers and activate it, but you might not get all the features. Since then we’ve seen some further developments

LG Cookie Style T310 Review
Recently LG announced three new handsets to be released, which would be aimed mainly at the teen/youth/student market, with a strong focus on fashion, design, messaging and social networking. We are going to take a closer look at the first of those three handsets now, the LG Cookie Style T310 . The new Cookie range, which was previously announced under the ‘Wink’ brand, compromise a set of handsets that deliver a strong set of features, at an entry level price point. The Cookie handsets should be available on contract at all price levels, as well as appearing as a Pay As You Go handset. The Cookie Style T310 is a slim device, measuring just 11.9mm, and very light, weighing in at 86.5g.

Nokia Nintendo phone almost happend
I had a weird dream or wish a couple of weeks ago that if Nokia where to buy another company then it would have to be my other favourite company Nintendo. Well today Pocket gamer are reporting that Nokia and Nintendo DID work on a Nokia Nintendo phone back when Nokia where developing the N-Gage. The development of the phone where done at Nintendo’s Japanese HQ and actual concept devices where made and pitched to the board and ultimately rejected

Nokia 5250 pictured clearly
Some clear pictures of a rumoured Nokia 5230 have appeared, first time I have actually heard of this phone it is probably based on Symbian 1 but looks decent a bit like the Sony ericsson X8 the slightly smaller version to the X10. BTW I thought Nokia had stopped using this naming convention thanks to Keith for the heads up via ubergizmo.com

Student Diary can help you stay organized
In a way, whether we’re in school or not, we’re all students. When we’re at our jobs, when we’re taking care of the family at home, even when we’re out in social situations, we’re learning something. And when you’re learning something you probably want to stay organized so you can get the most out of it. We’ve gone over a number of organization applications in the past. In the past we’ve reviewed StudentDocket , and just a couple of weeks ago reviewed Calendar Pro .

Nokia N8 unboxing
The good folks at TheHandheldblog got a preview of the N8 in its exact retail packaging and did an unboxing for our pleasure. As you can see the box is TINY !!! which is really nice in my opinion and I really like that Nokia are also going for the their traditional blue colouring for their packaging. The contents of the box for different markets will be different like a stylus for the Asian market. I am seriously considering buying an N8 now I have flip flopped the idea between then when it was announced and now and pretty much ruled it out a while ago but after using other platforms for extensive periods I don’t see a huge difference between them and Symbian now and I am thinking of selling my Nokia E72 to part fund it we will wait and see I guess……..

Open screen project
This is a very cool project where YOU guys can get money to turn an app idea into a reality and get it distributed using the Ovi App store An app called Twittle funded by the Open Screen Project very impressive indeed It seems like Nokia are really stepping up their game with the App front encouraging developers to get on board makes sense as developers for the iOS and Android devices will not be able to make money there for ever they will have to come over and develop for Nokia too to make a good living. I am guessing there will also be a large number of apps being launched around the time the N8 launches. Now I need to get my lazy behind to learn Qt already, I have the SDK donwloaded now need some motivation via openscreenproject.org

Review: Fastar! for iPhone
Fastar! — Fight Angry Squares: The Action RPG! is an RPG in which you, er, fight angry squares? And it’s… it’s action? I’m not doing this justice at all. Come to think of it, though, I’m not sure one could give this bizarre and deceiving game its due with the few paragraphs and screenshots I have for you today.

Smarter is Coming
Sony Ericsson have got a surprise up their sleeves, and we are not going to have to wait too long to find out what it is, either. There is a countdown site , that is sitting at approximately 7 hours, and the teaser above the image says “Smarter is Coming.” What Smarter is, isn’t instantly obvious. Is it a new smartphone?

Nokia C6 Review: The good, the bad and the smart
Introduction Ever since it’s release under the Nokia’s Cseries branding, the Nokia C6 was bound to attract some attention. And for a good reason. The budget price range is quite unusual for what it offers in return: attractive design, a touchscreen enforced with a slide-out qwerty keyboard and all the connectivity you can eat, including voice guided GPS navigation. With a few caveats, it’s not difficult to spot the simple yet beautiful concept behind the Nokia C6 – you get what you see, without going into overdrive with expenses.

More sample images. (This is getting ridiculous now)
Just happened across some images by a flickr user named sheridan01. Supposedly they came from a Nokia N8. A few of the images are a bit out of focus and the flash seemed to cause a bit of blue tinting (doubt the flash was needed for those photos)

My Nokia Blog grows again.
In Jay’s absence I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the readers of this blog for helping to sustain the growth of this blog. Jay, being pessimistic as he is , said at the end of June that in spite of the growth of the blog readership ~300,000 readers over the course of month, he expected that we couldn’t possibly get any larger. Well the stats are in for the month of July. Some how we managed to rope in 314,000 of you Nokia aficionados over the course of the month

Smartphone Sales Boom, but Symbian Still Rules
There are various reports out today, detailing the incredible growing popularity of smartphone devices. Firstly, iPhone sales in the UK are predicted to rise by an amazing 195% this year, taking Apple’s share of the UK market to 7.9%, with forecasts suggesting that by the end of 2012 the iPhone will account for one in ten of mobile handsets for UK users. Pretty impressive numbers, and the same is to be said for Google’s increasingly popular Android OS. Available on a wide variety of devices, the Android operating system is available on handsets from leading manufacturers such as HTC , Samsung and Motorola . According to Google CEO Eric Shmidt, 200,000 Android devices are being activated worldwide, every day.
