Nokia N8 gets a 32GB model hint, nearly user-replaceable battery
Nokia N8 gets a 32GB model hint, nearly user-replaceable battery Nokia’s N8 might not be for sale but it’s certainly out in the internet wilds . A few, presumably pre-production, units have already made their way onto some Arabic sites for dissection and lustful right-to-left analysis. SaudiMac had the good fortune to see some early retail packaging with ‘N8-00 / 32GB’ printed (and later Photoshopped out) directly on the box

Aliph Jawbone Icon “The Hero” Bluetooth Headset Review
The Jawbone Icon from Aliph is the 4th and latest in the line of Bluetooth headsets known for their noise cancellation technology. The Icon has actually been on the scene for several months, however, Aliph just recently added A2DP to Icon allowing you to play streaming audio, music, and podcasts, etc. through the headset. Since I haven’t talked about the Jawbone Icon before I figure that this would be a good time to give it a proper review.

Those are three examples of how Facebook is moving quickly to make the Internet one big personalized social network, setting up the Palo Alto firm as the default communications platform for what some observers are already calling Web 3.0.
ContactsPlus XL dresses up the iPhone’s contacts list to make it more appealing with additional features. Although many iPhone users can probably get along fine with the plain vanilla services of the iPhone’s built-in contacts app, the additional features in ContactsPlus XL are nice and give more flexibility for streamlining one’s address book. In fact, anyone with a large contacts list will find that the app has some very nice extras which offer more control for finding, displaying and organizing contacts. For example, ContactsPlus XL provides several ways to organize contacts into groups
At some point, every model builder looks at a kit they’re working on and thinks “why couldn’t this be 1:1 scale?”, which then leads to thoughts of being able to drive your favorite car, fly your favorite airplane or sail your favorite ship.

Even though I’ve owned tons of audio/video equipment over the years, I’ve never had a universal remote. The best ones always were very expensive, and the ones I could afford never seemed to actually have enough buttons to handle all the functions of my various pieces of equipment. And who could remember how all those buttons were mapped for each piece of equipment? I’d given up on universal remotes and just made do with the slightly programmable remote that came with my DVR box from the cable company. When Julie said the Logitech people were offering their soon-to-be-available Harmony 600 remote for review, I asked if I could give it a try. It has a plethora of buttons to handle most functions, and there are programmable buttons that handle the rest of the functions specific to a given device. Best of all, there’s a little LCD screen that LABELS those functions for you! This remote shows a lot of promise. … [ visit site to read more ] Filed in categories: Audio, Video, TV Gear , Reviews Tagged: Universal remote control Logitech Harmony 600 Remote Review originally appeared on The Gadgeteer on May 3, 2010 at 11:11 am.
Final Stupid.com Prize Pack Review: Kitchen Magician
Reminder: today is your last chance to enter our Nerdy Mega Prize Pack giveaway from Stupid.com ! The final review in our six part Nerdy Mega Prize Pack series is the Kitchen Magician. In a nutshell, it’s supposed to be the Swiss Army Knife of kitchen utensils, but falls a bit short of that goal. Here’s a breakdown of the 20 tools you can use, straight from the box description: coffee filter pepper shaker sugar scoop whisk salt shaker knife roasting fork basting brush strainer/grater/spatula masher ladel/measuring cup corkscrew can opener bottle opener tongs peeler By my count, that’s only 19—unless you count the carrying case as a “tool.” At any rate, the Kitchen Magician is a jack of all trades, but master of none. Well, it’s halfway decent for the basic stuff, like spatulas, bottle openers and whatnot—but I can’t see you using add-ons like the salt and pepper shaker or the coffee filter unless you are in some sort of camping situation
Click To Enlarge Apparently, these mints offer “a burst of flavor reminiscent of processed cheese and spices.” MMMMMM! Fake processed cheese flavor. It’s kind of like having sex with a balloon instead of a blow up doll…you know what I mean? Product Page ($2.50)
Create your own ringtones with MP3 Ringtone Creator
There are plenty of applications out there that allow you to create your own ringtones. Many of them perform the function for free, using the music already on your computer. That’s the one problem, though. Creating a ringtone on your computer means using that application there, and then transferring the song to your BlackBerry
And finally BlackBerry Curve 8530 users can rejoice, because a new leaked OS has arrived. The latest is OS 5.0.0.654, which comes our way curiosity of GizmoFusion . We haven’t heard any reviews of .654 for the Curve 8530 as of yet, but feel free to give it a try! Just remember that this is not an official OS, and it has been leaked before obtaining final testing. It’s not recommended you install this OS if you have no previous knowledge of installing leaked OS’ before.
I am always looking for a better phone protector. Something that is stylish and made of a solid material. Also it must have access to all of the buttons and ports and holes that are all over the sides of our devices. Above all else, it must be able to pass a rigorous usage test when it is installed on my wife’s phone. Recently I was privileged enough to be given a Blackberry Pearl Series Protector Case from WirelessGround to review. One of the biggest problems I have with plastic cell phone covers is that most of them don’t use completely dyed plastic but just color the top. This one is no exception which means that the purple argyle will eventually just get scratched off, they also didn’t do the best of jobs matching the pieces together to continue the pattern in a fluid way. These are the only complaints I have but they are found across the mobile case board so you can’t totally fault them for it. What I have found a nice touch is the removable belt clip that leaves four small holes in the back of the cover. It comes with the belt clip and screws to mount it to the cover. Why I like this better than most that I have used is because most of them have bulky pieces that make slipping it in your pocket a nightmare. Not the putting it in the pocket actually, but taking it out can be the real pain. The other thing that I must say is a plus is the solid fit that in has on the phone. I obviously can’t say that this would hold true for all the covers they sell, but this one fits like a glove. There is great access to all of the buttons and ports and the charger fits firmly without the cover becoming an obstacle. WirelessGround has a ton of designs for a slew of mobile devices and as for this one I can say that even a room full of second graders give it rave reviews for design quality. You can check out the many products at WirelessGround for yourself and let us know what you think
Only a few day’s ago, Nokia officially released the Nokia Qt SDK which is a Nokia focused version of the original Qt SDK, and allows better development of applications for all Symbian, MeeGo (sorry does not support MeeGo yet but I’m sure this will come soon) and Maemo operating systems which means games, and applications can work great of all platforms. This is better for developers as it means that they are able to port their application across to a much greater number of consumers quicker, the developers in the video below stated that they have: rewritten an application from native Symbian into Qt in 3-4 weeks seen their applications available in the Ovi store a week after submitting reached customers in 178 countries in just 48 hours of launching their application Now the developers currently making Apple app store, apps have no excuse, if they make their app using Qt, they will reach probably 10 times more consumers and also have a much greater chance of seeing the light of day, without the worry of creating something which is against Apple’s many overly strict rules. So developer’s if you are reading this, start writing!!! To download the development tool, just head over to the Forum Nokia page: http://www.forum.nokia.com/Tools_Docs_and_Code/Tools/IDEs/Nokia_Qt_SDK/ Don’t worry I have not forgot about us consumers, it is a lot better for us too, now if developer’s can make app’s quicker and across more platforms, it means the number of applications in the Ovi store should multiply in no time at all, so more free apps to choose from, more premium apps which you might be willing to pay for, and more competition between developers to make better apps and for a lower price!!
