Articles 1.3 for iPhone: chapter list, language picker

This latest update to Articles ($2.99 – review ) adds a feature I was *just* starting to miss: a chapter list for Wikipedia entries (which the devs call a “contents sheet”). Articles already supports a nifty double-tap scrolling mechanism that allows you to jump through the chapters of an entry as if they were all on a scroll bar, but it really wasn’t an adequate replacement for a real chapter list. At the very least, it’s nice to know which point you’d like to jump to, instead of scrolling blindly, chapter by chapter, to see what’s on the page.  If I sound like I’m complaining, I’m really not.

Toast Shooter HD Pops up with Fun

Toast Shooter HD turns your iPad into a shooting gallery with the object of taking down the most formidable of enemies: toast. It is a great game that is especially enjoyable on the iPad’s larger screen. Play begins with a toaster popping up and then launching multiple pieces of toast into the air. In order to earn points you must blast them out of the sky with your jelly cannon; aka your finger.

Premature Release? iPhone 4 Riddled With Flaws

There has been a ton of buzz, rumours and speculation around Apple’s latest product, the iPhone 4. Started when an Apple employee left one in a bar long before its release date, which then ended up in the tech media’s hands and published online with full specifications. Then came the Adobe Flash battle , followed by reports that Apple’s product manufacturer, Foxconn , was faced mass employees suicides

Apple Responds to iPhone 4 Antenna Issues

Apple have just concluded a hastily convened press conference, to respond to the growing bad press the new iPhone 4 has been receiving, in regards to the now infamous reception issues, popularly known as the ‘iPhone Grip of Death.’ The press conference started with a short presentation, led by Apple CEO Steve Jobs, and he started off by pointing out that all phones will suffer some kind of reception issues when held in a specific manner, citing the BlackBerry 9700, HTC Eris and Samsung Omnia as examples. After explaining all the testing that the iPhone 4 went through before release, Jobs said that Apple were aware of the reception issues the iPhone 4 had, but didn’t see it as such a big deal, seeing how this is something that all phones suffered from to some degree. The rate at which a phone shows the signal dropping is calculated on a software algorithm, which differs from phone to phone. Apple have noted that there was a flaw in their calculation, which was resolved by a software update rolled out for all iPhone handsets through iTunes, which started going live yesterday.

HTC Hero Receives Android 2.1 Update OTA on T-Mobile

The HTC Hero has been with us for around a year now, and still has a loyal following amongst HTC fans, with its early implementation of the Sense UI and decent spec for an Android device of its time making it the phone to have back then. And even now, the Hero still ranks as one of the top devices on the market, but one thing that has been holding it back is the fact that the Hero, or G2 as T-Mobile prefer to call it, still runs on Android OS 1.5 This means that some of the newer updates for Google applications and apps from the Android Market are incompatible with the Hero, which quickly led to user frustration, and a long patient wait as deadline after deadline for the promised update to a later Android OS version came and went.

Cartoon Roach Has Smashing Fun

If you ran to the whack-a-mole booth when visiting a favorite arcade or just love to squash insects then Cartoon Roach may be just the game you need. It is one of those games with a fun, simple concept that makes for a great time killer; the object is to go nuts smashing roaches as they scurry across the screen. But you can’t get too crazy because some of them are “good” roaches and squashing them will spell your end. The more roaches you smash earns additional weapons and tools. After a few smashes you will notice golden stars accumulating at the bottom of the screen — now shaking the device will kill off all evil roaches

The iPhone Killer

The term ‘iPhone killer’ has been applied to many handsets, as manufacturers have strived to produce a mobile phone that matches the market appeal of the Apple iPhone. And, although there are many worthy alternative handsets available nowadays, none have really achieved the status of the ‘iPhone killer’. However, that may be about to change, and the contender for the title is a handset that no one could have predicted just a few weeks ago….. ….We’re talking about the iPhone 4
