How to: Hard reset your Nokia N8

If you’re unfortunate enough to encounter a problem on your Nokia N8, a hard reset maybe what you need to do. This wipes the entire phone memory and settings fresh to how it was (or should be) when you bought it. It’s also useful if you’re also unfortunate enough to have to send away your Nokia N8 for repair or exchange, or maybe in future you maybe selling it and don’t want your information/details/media stored onto your device for someone else to access. Hopefully unlike the N97, the N8 will not encounter hard-reset bugs where we constantly have to hard reset

When everyone else was doing 10MP, Fuji were one of the few companies that forcibly stuck to the lower megapixel ranges in an attempt to make the best use out of each and every pixel. GSM Arena has already performed a shootout (blind one in fact in an attempt to reduce bias) of the Nokia N8 against the Samsung Pixon 12 . Which as we know, comfortably won, beating out even the dedicated digital camera, the Sony HX5. They said that they didn’t bother with the Sony Ericsson Satio for two reasons – first the Pixon in previous sets has already beaten the Sony Ericsson Satio and secondly, the lack of wide angle in the Satio would make it more obvious. This comparison of the 12MP shooters, N8, Pixon 12 and Satio comes via vnvas from data.bg. Nokia N8 followed by Pixon 12 and finally the Satio.

Axel from blog-n8.fr compares his Nokia N8 with his Samsung Galaxy S (GT i9000). The difference is most astonishing, especially in low light the N8 shows that this is not merely any old camera phone. The Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type has a fixed focus 5mp camera (no flash). I haven’t had a chance to properly test out the camera – these shots were mostly taken on the move (hence I’ve added to the blurring). Pictures are captured with the camera button on the touch screen.

A while back we saw the N8 record in crystal clarity a Rihanna concert. Here’s the N8 again in a U2 concernt in Rome. Again, one of the overlooked features of video cameras is audio – and Nokia N8 has the best in ANY mobile phone right now and in several dedicated camera/compact video cam solutions. Jan van der Meer is the ultimate camera buff and in these series of videos, he’s been using (what any self respecting camera buff should own :p) a Nokia N8. He’s got some great tips for us such as the new Joby Gorillapod (Every human with a camera/camphone NEEDS a gorillapod) with an arm for smooth swivelling/tilting. In this video, Jan uses a macro lens on the N8. The results are great. Now we’ve seen from topolino70 how even simpler than this (with a magnifying glass) you can achieve some absolutely breathtaking close up videos with the N8.
