Although you may not be able at this moment in time to root the T-Mobile G2 smartphone, it doesn’t make it less an attractive Android 2.2 handset, and it has even become more attracted on Amazon.com. According to an article over on Android Community by Dylan Bailey, even though the build quality of the device is somewhat questionable, the T-Mobile G2 is still an impressive device and even more so now that Amazon has dropped the asking price. Motorola Boosts Efforts to Grab Smartphone Market Share with TV Campaign

Motorola wants to extend their smartphone market share in the mobile space just like every other smartphone manufacturer; however apparently Motorola is going to boost their efforts to grab more market share by launching their first TV advertising campaign of 2010. There are many of our readers sending in emails basically asking what is the point of Adobe Air and what can we do with it, well here is one answer. How to: Hard reset your Nokia N8

If you’re unfortunate enough to encounter a problem on your Nokia N8, a hard reset maybe what you need to do. This wipes the entire phone memory and settings fresh to how it was (or should be) when you bought it. It’s also useful if you’re also unfortunate enough to have to send away your Nokia N8 for repair or exchange, or maybe in future you maybe selling it and don’t want your information/details/media stored onto your device for someone else to access. Hopefully unlike the N97, the N8 will not encounter hard-reset bugs where we constantly have to hard reset

BlackBerry Access Deadline of January 31st Set by India

Research In Motion still faces a ban on BlackBerry devices in India even though Research In Motion has given the Indian intelligence agencies manual access to BlackBerry Messenger services, but that isn’t apparently enough. According to an article over on Reuters by Sumeet Chatterjee, the Economic Time has reported that the Indian government has placed a deadline of January the 31st 2011 for Research In Motion to deliver automated access to their BlackBerry Messenger service. According to India’s top interior ministry official on October the 1st said that automated access to the BlackBerry Messenger service will enable authorities to track messages in real time

iPhone Jailbreak Hack Gridlock Enables Custom Icon Placing

There is apparently an iPhone jailbreak hack called Gridlock which enables the user to place application icons on their home screen and actually doesn’t interfere with their wallpaper and even enables the user to make a pattern. According to an article over on TiPb by Brian, Gridlock for the iPhone is simple to use as all that is required is for the user to hold down on an icon which will make said the application jiggle as normal and then you can move said icon to anywhere you wish. Apparently that is all there is to it with Gridlock for iPhone , and you can’t get any simpler than that can you, just press down and drag your chosen icon anywhere and the job is done. So if you have a jailbroken iPhone and can use Cydia , you can purchase Gridlock for iPhone from Cydia for a very reasonable $0.99, and if you do then drop us a comment on what you think of Gridlock for iPhone.

Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Xbox Live Preview Videos

So Microsoft went all official with Windows Phone 7 at their launch event yesterday, and one of the big things with Windows Phone 7 is of course Xbox Live for Windows Phone 7, something that will no doubt places Microsoft in a better position than most mobile game platforms. Word is that Microsoft has a nice strong line-up of mobile games for the launch of Windows Phone 7 which includes the likes of Need for Speed, The Sims 3, The Harvest and Rocket Riot, and the guys over at Engadget have done the deed and come up with a few video previews of the games and the Xbox Live Hub

Apple Trademarks There’s An App For That

It appears that iPhone giant Apple doesn’t want anyone using their catchphrase “There’s an app for that,” in any combination other than for Apple products and has thus slapped a trademark on that particular phrase. According to an article over on Gizmodo by Jesus Diaz, the US Patent and Trademark Office has granted the trademark to Apple, and according to said office a trademark is a “word, phrase, symbol or design, or a combination of words, phrases, symbols or designs, that identifies and distinguishes the source of goods of one party from those of others.” So this means if anyone uses any variation of the Apple trademarked phrase, such as say, “There’s an app for this,” Apple has the legal right to send in their legal guns to beat the living crap out of the offender.
