Want to buy a Nexus One from Google? Move fast.

About two months ago, Google announced that it will no longer be selling the Nexus One directly , through its specially-made online store. And today we’re moving one step closer in that direction. Google have received the very last batch of phones that they’re planning to sell, so if you wanted to buy a Nexus One directly, do it soon, otherwise there may not be any left. The Nexus One will still be available in some markets via carrier partners, most important of which are Vodafone (that will still sell it in some European countries) and KT in South Korea.

Then came the Adobe Flash battle , followed by reports that Apple’s product manufacturer, Foxconn , was faced mass employees suicides

Apple iPhone 4 software fix for proximity sensor coming soon

Steve Jobs, during a press conference today, announced that a software fix is coming for the iPhone 4′s proximity sensor. The sensor is used to detect the user’s face during a call and to deactivate the touchscreen. Users have complained of the device’s touchscreen activating while on calls, which has resulted in dropped calls or placing the caller on hold. Apple expects the issues to be remedied soon and included in the next iOS update. Read the full story here

Apple Responds to iPhone 4 Antenna Issues

Apple have just concluded a hastily convened press conference, to respond to the growing bad press the new iPhone 4 has been receiving, in regards to the now infamous reception issues, popularly known as the ‘iPhone Grip of Death.’ The press conference started with a short presentation, led by Apple CEO Steve Jobs, and he started off by pointing out that all phones will suffer some kind of reception issues when held in a specific manner, citing the BlackBerry 9700, HTC Eris and Samsung Omnia as examples. After explaining all the testing that the iPhone 4 went through before release, Jobs said that Apple were aware of the reception issues the iPhone 4 had, but didn’t see it as such a big deal, seeing how this is something that all phones suffered from to some degree. The rate at which a phone shows the signal dropping is calculated on a software algorithm, which differs from phone to phone. Apple have noted that there was a flaw in their calculation, which was resolved by a software update rolled out for all iPhone handsets through iTunes, which started going live yesterday.

Apple iPhone 4 press conference prediction

In just about 30 minutes, Apple will be holding a rare press conference to address issues surrounding the iPhone 4 . They’ve been pretty vague about the content that they will address, but it’s pretty obvious to all that they will be talking about the antenna issue that many have been complaining about (although we also wouldn’t mind hearing about a ship date for the white iPhone 4, and an update on the proximity sensor issue.) We figured we’d take a stab at predicting what Apple is gonna do.

Sharktopus Gets Official Trailer. It’s Full Of Awesomeness

I never thought I would see the day when a SyFy original movie would please me more than the Declan O’Brien helmed Rock Monster , but that’s exactly what happened today when I spied the Roger Corman produced Sharktopus . How could you possibly not want to watch a move where a shark is combined with an octopus that can spit ink and tear you apart with razor sharp teeth. If that isn’t enough for you, there’s a ridiculous “plot” and I use the word “plot” lightly with a ton of girls wearing pretty much nothing. For the ladies there’s also a bunch of hunky guys…unfortunately both sexes get equally torn apart

HTC Hero Receives Android 2.1 Update OTA on T-Mobile

The HTC Hero has been with us for around a year now, and still has a loyal following amongst HTC fans, with its early implementation of the Sense UI and decent spec for an Android device of its time making it the phone to have back then. And even now, the Hero still ranks as one of the top devices on the market, but one thing that has been holding it back is the fact that the Hero, or G2 as T-Mobile prefer to call it, still runs on Android OS 1.5 This means that some of the newer updates for Google applications and apps from the Android Market are incompatible with the Hero, which quickly led to user frustration, and a long patient wait as deadline after deadline for the promised update to a later Android OS version came and went.
