A LEGO NXT enthusiast has built a remote-controlled Wall-E that can transform into a box, just like in the movie when Wall-E goes to sleep. The robot can also move forward/backward, spin in either direction, hold – and drop – objects and look up or down. It probably can’t change its own parts though. Here he is in action as captured on video by his love, EVE: Click to View Embedded Video Clip The creator says his robot can also “make sounds”, and I was hoping to hear it say “Waaaaaall-E”, but it didn’t. Nokia says they prioritize antenna performance over design

About two months ago, Google announced that it will no longer be selling the Nexus One directly , through its specially-made online store. And today we’re moving one step closer in that direction. Google have received the very last batch of phones that they’re planning to sell, so if you wanted to buy a Nexus One directly, do it soon, otherwise there may not be any left. The Nexus One will still be available in some markets via carrier partners, most important of which are Vodafone (that will still sell it in some European countries) and KT in South Korea.

Following this morning’s iPhone 4 press conference, Apple has put up a page detailing the attenuation and signal loss of the antenna. They include videos of the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, BlackBerry Bold 9700, HTC Droid Eris, and Samsung Omnia II (basically, iOS, BlackBerry OS, Android, and Windows Mobile) all showing the same issue, and explain why it happens.

So there it went. The big iPhone 4 press conference. If you were expecting for Steve Jobs to issue a recall , tough luck. What did happen was an intricate defense of the iPhone 4′s antenna design, even spiced up with tests on other (obviously carefully selected) phones, to show that the reception issues everyone’s been talking about actually happen to all phones.

Free bumpers for all iPhone 4 buyers, white iPhone 4 to come at the end of July

This morning Apple took the stage for a press conference to address the iPhone 4 antenna issues that a small number of users have been experiencing. After Steve Jobs gave details on the antenna issue alongside data that Apple has collected, he announced that Apple would be sending free cases to iPhone 4 customers through September 30th. One caveat mentioned, though, is that Apple can’t seem to make enough Bumper Case s to meet demand, so to be true to their free case promise, they will source cases from their partner manufacturers as well.
