Unauthorized Access to Email

It seems that the more you try to keep someone out of your life or your house the more they want in. It’s the same with unauthorized access to your corporate email accounts. But what’s worse than someone trying to gain unauthorized access to your email accounts is some “thing” trying to gain access to your email accounts. The “something” that I am talking about is the following warning message: “A program is trying to access e-mail addresses stored in Outlook. Do you want to allow this?” If you have Outlook 2002 deployed in your environment then you can implement some security features that will prompt a user or notify an administrator of attempted unauthorized access to email.

10 Reasons Why Mobile Advertising Has Not Reached Its Potential

In this article blogger and CEO of VeraSprite Mark Jaffe discusses why he feels mobile advertising has not reached it’s full potential.  His blog can be found at, http://mobilemandala.com Quick blurb: “Group M released some statistics last month that projected mobile to comprise one half of 1% of total global advertising expenditures in 2009.  It is projected to be about .8% in 2010.” He goes on to say, “Aren’t you just amazed by what a small percentage mobile advertising is of total worldwide advertising expenditures and what a large percentage of time we spend on mobile devices when compared to time spent on other media.  Why the difference? I suspect that one reason is because we as marketers spend a disproportionately large amount of time thinking about what we want to tell consumers and how we want to tell it, and a disproportionately small amount of time focusing on how they want to receive that information and the unique characteristics of the medium upon which it is received.  I also suspect that it is because we are afraid to try something new with this new medium of mobile.” Overall this is a good article that has sparked a lot of debate. The consequences, of course, for businesses, consumers, and mobile marketers will be as significant as they are promising. According to Juniper’s research, the NFC report illustrated that payments and retail transactions (including mobile coupons) will contribute dramatically in transforming the cell phone into a widespread payment tool and an unprecedented mechanism for sales and promotional opportunities for retailers.
