The mysterious Jack Crossfire’s open source Vicacopter autonomous VTOL UAVs are amazing to watch . For around a hundred dollars you, too, can build your own. You need to be an expert in PIC assembly, electronics, & the VicaCopter source code to actually get it to work, but this is actual source code flying our autonomous VTOL aircraft, not an incomplete stage which can’t hover. The VicaCopter supports 2 configurations: 3 gyros & a sonar transducer for the minimal autopilot 6 DOF IMU, magnetometer, barometer, GPS for the full autopilot Some things VicaCopter can do: Can fly with under $100 of parts, not including the airframe.

Assassin’s Creed works on the Palm Pre, only
Gameloft is on board to bring its games for Palm ( NSDQ: PALM )’s webOS platform. The company has already launched Asphalt 5, Brain Challenge, Oregon Trail and Let’s Golf. And now they’re adding Assassin’s Creed: Altaïr’s Chronicles to the list. What’s interesting about the $6.99 game is that it works with the Pre only — Pixi doesn’t have enough horsepower to run the game

Interesting enough to note that the end of the year brings forecasts for the IT community as optimistic as long not heard. After the brutal 2009, we’re glad to receive some encouraging news again. With the leading and most trusted Forrester and Gartner at the front of the line, most other analyst houses and industry associations including IDC, IAOP, NOA echo with optimistic releases. Rejoice, IT! We’ve made it through! The Forrester’s loud statement “Tech downturn officially over” gave way to numerous sequential prognostications the quintessence of which sounds as follows: IT spending is set to grow in the coming year
