Samsung’s Bada OS gets good response from carriers, Bada phone coming at MWC

Samsung has reportedly presented its newly-announced Bada operating system to mobile carriers around the globe and, according to Kim Hyung-do (Samsung’s vice president for strategic planning), the company has received good response from carriers. And speaking of carriers, Samsung has just announced that its first Bada phone ( Bada S8200 , maybe?) will be showcased at MWC 2010 (15-18 February), which means that it might be available starting this spring. Unsurprisingly, Bada OS will include the latest version of Samsung’s TouchWiz UI, which comes with “chic touch interaction and components to increase its simplicity and ease of use.” Bada OS aside, Samsung plans to launch an Android 2.1 smartphone in the first half of this year. As for Windows Mobile , it looks like Samsung will further reduce its dependency on it – as we’ve previously reported . How to Unlock the HTC HD2’s hidden RAM

Lots of phones nowadays come out of the box with some features disabled, and it’s a simple matter of a little tweaking to activate them. Still, why would anyone intentionally limit the amount of RAM—that piece of hardware that makes high-end phones faster and thus easier to use—available to its users? Case in point: the HTC HD2 , which has 576 MB of RAM built-in, but only 448 MB of that available by default. Adventurous users will have to install “some custom ROMS” to free up the hidden memory. This potentially makes the HD2 faster, but most probably voids any applicable warranties.

Steve Jobs,"Next iPhone Update is A+; Flash is buggy, HTML 5 is the Future"

Apple’s Tablet, the iPad, was one of the most anticipated device of 2010 (2010 has just started by the way so there are many more to come from other guys). When Steve Jobs launched the iPad on Jan 27 2010, the whole Internet came to a stand still and everybody was busy tracking, live blogging, tweeting, facebooking the event. Along with the iPad there was a rumor that Apple would be launching an upgraded version of the iPhone OS but as it was a iPad dedicated event no news came on that from

Question for those Early-Adopters of the iPad….

The big question for those early-adopters of the iPad: Which version are you going to buy? Whether you are going the thrifty 16gb route or getting the 3G 64gb Cadillac, I’m just curious which one you are going to buy and why? Also, are you going to skip work to stand in line or wait until after the insanity subsides before braving the trip to your local Apple Store?

Stephen Colbert rocks the Grammys with an Apple iPad

We didn’t think we’d see an iPad surface so soon… If you were keeping up with the Grammys, you were probably just as shocked as we were when Stephen Colbert pulled one out to present Song of the Year. And of course, the iPad’s cameo wouldn’t be complete without a little gloating from Colbert himself. “Jay Z, did you not get one of these in your gift bag? Am I cooler than you?!” Bravo, Stephen Colbert

Motorola Backflip (ME600) available now – but only in China

Expected to be launched soon in the US, as AT&T’s first Android phone, the Motorola Backflip is already available in China – where Moto also has Android devices like the XT800 and MT710 . The Backflip appears as Motorola ME600 on Moto China’s website , and it costs 4,298 Chinese yuan unlocked (an 8GB memory card and a car charger are included in this price) – that’s about $629, so AT&T will probably (hopefully) sell the phone for $200 or less on contract. The features of Motorola Backflip ME600 include a 320 x 480 pixels touchscreen display, HSDPA, Wi-Fi (and WAPI ), GPS, full QWERTY keyboard, 3.5mm headset jack, 5MP autofocus camera, and Android with MotoBlur. (live photos via 163 ) Back to AT&T, the second largest US mobile carrier should launch the Motorola Backflip in March – and it looks like it has already ordered about 400,000 units of it . The phone is surely interesting, although the weird form factor might scare some customers off.
