Personally I don’t see how these guys where chosen for being innovative enough to help design laptops, except for maybe Joe Perry but Hines Ward?! Really??!! In any case eBay currently has the notebooks up for auction and each one is different

Why there is no native SDK for the webOS
One webOS-related question which keeps popping up over and over again is the one about the native SDK: why is all Pre development restricted to JavaScript? I recently found the following answer on a mailing list – it was posted there by a former Palm insider: Not having a binary interface means Palm has far more flexibility in changing the hardware… already that have two devices with different versions of the ARM core, which means code that was compiled to take advantage of the NEON instructions in the Cortex-A8 on the Pre would fail on the ARM11-based Pixi. It also means they can change a lot of the low-level interfaces and implementations without breaking app code, which is very likely. Maybe my webOS 2.0 they’ll have that level stable enough to support app services — it took Android until the 1.6 OS release to support native shared libraries

It was almost two months ago that Apple finally launched the iPhone in China, hoping to take advantage of the big market in the country. However, what was hoping to be a successful beginning to the iPhone’s run in China, has now turned into a huge disappointment for the folks at Apple. To date, sales in China for the iPhone have only gotten up to approximatel 100,000 units being sold

Metropark Introduces Live Twitter Feeds as You Try on Your Jeans
Twitter, Twitter, Twitter… it seems it has invaded almost everyone’s lives and now it appears it’s following us as we shop too. Metropark, a Los Angeles based specialty store that combines elements of fashion, music and art has launched a custom interactive Twitter interface called Metropark Reverb that directly feeds Twitter comments mentioning Metropark (Twitter name @MetroparkUSA) into numerous plasma televisions in each and every one of their stores. If you like shopping at Metropark your tweet mentioning them will be live for all to see, or if someone annoys you at one particular Metropark store, that will become public knowledge too if you tweet about it. Some of the designer brands you may find there include OBEY, Crash & Burn, Betsey Johnson, Affliction, Monarchy, and premium denim brands like True Religion, Rock and Republic, Frankie B, MEK and Rock Revival. So if you can’t fit into those size 5 jeans, maybe tweet if another Metropark has them in a size 6… and you just may get a response

Government Calls On FCC To Keep Closer Eye On The Wireless Industry
Those of us consumed in the world of mobile marketing and its subsequent topics tend to easily forget about the backbone of the mobile industry- the wireless companies themselves. While they exist with a tremendous amount of regulation, the FCC and other government organizations are flooded with consumer complaints and internal inquiries each and every year. The Government Accountability Office (GAO) has taken notice of the problem and called on the FCC to not only increase oversight of the entire wireless industry, but to do a better job of enforcing consumer protection rules as well

Elvis Presley Goes Mobile
Elvis may be gone, but he certainly isn’t forgotten. On the perennial list of top celebrity earners who just happen to be dead, Elvis Presley remains both a hot brand and lucrative industry – a veritable business of music, merchandise, and memorabilia that continues to drive revenue for the many employed by all things Elvis. It’s no wonder then that Elvis has finally arrived in the world of mobile marketing. To commemorate a series of events honoring the 75th anniversary of Elvis Presley’s birth next month, Elvis Presley Enterprises is preparing to launch a free Elvis Mobile app for Apple’s iPhone and iTouch.

Palm Pre to hit the Czech Republic
So far, Palm’s Pre has not hit Eastern shores. In fact, it has not hit many shores at all – Pre availability can still be counted on your fingers. Nevertheless, Palm seems to be committed to increase its reach slowly but surely – and the Czech Republic could be the next target. Dow Jones Newswires reports the following: … We’ll certainly include Palm Pre in our product offering but at the moment I can’t tell when exactly,” T-O2 spokesman Martin Zabka told Dow Jones Newswires, adding the Palm Pre’s launch will likely be during next year. … Not much to add here…

AT&T: 3% of users cause 40% of traffic
Pareto’s law is one of the few “natural laws” which every reader of the Tamoggemon Content network should be familiar with – it says that 80% of every effort is caused by 20% of the beneficients. For example, 80% of the Coke bottles consumed in an OEBB ClubLounge are claimed by yours truly, his wife and a few other frequent travelers (20% of total population – 2) who abuse the system . Onto more serious things: a recent Wall Street Journal report quoted AT&T’s CEO as follows: With about 3% of smart-phone customers driving 40% of data traffic, AT&T is considering incentives to keep those subscribers from hampering the experience for everyone else, he said. “You can rest assured that we’re very sure we can address it in a way that’s consistent with net-neutrality and FCC regulations.” So much for Pareto…

Want a free Slurpee with that? This month, about 200 7-Eleven stores in San Diego are testing a GMR Marketing campaign where users can get free drinks using UBC bar codes. For customers without Internet access on their mobile phones, the coupon can be redeemed with a numeric code. The test, which will run through Dec 31, asks consumers to send a text with the word “FAST” (or fast in Spanish, “RAPIDO”) to “72579.” In return, they will receive a message for a free beverage at 7-Eleven stores.

HTC Mobile Phones in 2010
It takes a long time to produce a top end mobile phone, with many months passing from first concept drawings to final production. Any leading manufacturer worth its salt will have a roadmap of handsets projected 6 – 12 months in advance, and that information is jealously guarded to avoid leaking information to rival manufacturers. Occasionally though, certain information does leak out, be it by a mis-placed slide at a presentation or deliberately placed info supplied by the manufacturer themselves to generate internet chatter and interest in forth-coming devices. How the information leaked about the HTC roadmap came about, I’m not too sure, but it does give us a chance to look ahead to devices that will be on the market and in our pockets in 2010. The devices mentioned are all either Windows Mobile or Android.

The BOX Has Arrived!
Yesterday at 4:30 in the afternoon I collected the shipment from the DHL facility at Vauxhall Street. Here it is! I was surprised to see that the perspex box in which the Nokia E72 came was NOT forced open by the Sri Lanka Customs. Therefore I needed the four-digit code to open the box. Luckily our team comprising of Abraham Olandres, Daniel Tsou, Adrian Cheng and myself were able to find the code long before we received our Boxes. Each one of us were given a clue, and they were: “ I weighed in at 210gm” “ I’ve got brains and brawn “ “ I’ve got good social skills “ and mine was “ I was conceived 11 years after the first device of my kind “ The clues were pointing towards the Nokia E90, so we decided that 2007 was the answer, year the E90 was released
