Ski and Snowboarding Augmented Reality App
This is a very cool application for the iPhone which combines data from the compass, gps and ski runs to present an augmented reality view of the slopes! The app provides data on over 80 North American resorts – I’m hoping they add some of the European resorts too! You can get the FREE app HERE – you can then buy the individual resort data using in-app purchase

Porsche Design P’9522 Black Edition
Some of them do have the opinion that most of the new-gen gadgets looks cool in black and now, we’re quite happy to see that Porsche Design is of the same opinion too as they have introduced their new P’9522 Black Edition. Apart from the color there is actually nothing new or fresh here, with the phone featuring the same spec list of the original P’9522 with fingerprint reader, OLED touchscreen, Wi-Fi and other standard ones.

Nokia Launches Location Based Music App, Gig Finder
The geeks over at Nokia Beta Labs have launched one more app that finds music based on your location. Aptly named as the Gigi Finder , the application lets you search music concerts around you, you can buy tickets. The app also gives you recommendations based on the bands you like. being a location based app, it uses the GPS on your mobile phone and finds out concerts happening around you, which makes sense as a lot of small and big gigs are happening around you and you can pick and choose, which one you wanna head to. Apart from it main feature of finding gigs, it show you the location on the map along with directions, thanks to Ovi Maps

Nokia e72: Bugged
The Nokia e72 sure isn’t bug free. The latest one to cross horns with me being with the Themes inbuilt into the phone. If you put a slideshow for the wallpaper all goes until you change the mode from Business mode to Personal or vice versa. A change in mode removes the current wallpaper and we have to wait for the cycle to restart.

Powerpoint Editing on the iPhone
With all the news from CES I almost missed this…. Dataviz have updated their Documents To Go Premium product to provide support for editing Powerpoint files on your iPhone. I’m surprised it’s taken this long as I’ve always seen this as a key feature… having the ability to change the title slide for instance to the customer you were meeting or update the date in a slide for the date/time of the meeting.

Nokia ( NYSE: NOK ) Beta Labs is out with a new S60 app called Gig Finder. As you can guess from the app’s name, it’s made to help users find live music events based on their current location (in case you live in USA, Canada, UK and Ireland) and music tastes (Smart Recommendations). However, it’s not just the finding of concerts and other gigs you can do while on the go — you can also buy tickets directly from your Symbian 60 smartphone, as well as get directions to the venue. In addition, there’s an option to share information via Facebook, SMS or email; and download relevant music from Nokia Music Store

Orange UK stops selling Nokia N97 Mini due to high return rate; Vodafone cancels XPERIA X2 launch
The Nokia ( NYSE: NOK ) N97 Mini will no longer be offered by UK operator Orange after sources told Mobile Magazine that the return rates of the device were “quite high”. In other operator related news Vodafone ( NYSE: VOD ) said it is no longer going to launch the Sony Ericsson ( NYSE: SNE ) XPERIA X2 since it was significantly delayed and no it no longer fits in their portfolio. The N97 Mini news I’m actually surprised to hear since everyone I know with an N97 Mini, or who has reviewed the N97 Mini, have said that it’s brilliant and what the N97 should have been at launch

Samsung r470 TwoStep Cell Phone Review–Small in Stature, Packing Serious Force
If you’re not familiar with an M80, it’s a kind of firecracker. It was actually, at at least one point, the equivalent of a quarter-stick of dynamite. Also called ashcans, these were fairly small, but put a whole lot of juice in that very small package. That’s exactly what I felt when I first picked

ThinkFlood RedEye Review, Part 2: Device Setup
So here we are are now on day 2. Today, I’m going to look at getting the RedEye app working with your devices. Now it would be nearly impossible for me to tell you if your hardware will or will not work with this app. I was lucky enough to be able to exchange emails with the CEO, Matthew Eagar and he filled me in on the device support details. As of the launch of the device, only 15% of their database was ready. As opposed to Logitech’s Harmony line which relies on user-contributed codes, ThinkFlood has chosen to use a professionally managed database by a 3rd party. They plan to have the database completed by the end of January or early February. Just past the break I’ll detail my setup and what I went through to get everything working.
