Yeah, I know I go on about this a lot and you’re all probably sick of reading about it here, but video capture plus basic computing functionality was the reason why I championed Nokia back in 2006. Nokia, it’s time to change up a gear. The real zoom of the N86 is arguably the only video capture improvement that Nokia have brought to market since the camcorder class video capture of the N93. I wouldn’t mind, but the N93 will be four years old this summer.

I just finished reporting on Nokia’s Ovi Labs Racing , and if that game were available for the iPad, this would be the peripheral that you need. This iDraft, a concept model from designer Micheal Greenberg, definitely looks like “the” accessory to have for racing games. Now, if only the iPad had racing games. LG is probably feeling good right now, now that their devices have official 4G certification in Japan. Right now, LG, the South Korean company isn’t releasing a 4G handset just yet, but they will be releasing a 4G compatible modem. In the meantime, NTT Docomo, Japan’s biggest cell phone carrier, will probably have their 4G line through the country by December. Porsche is popular for its cars but then the Porsche Design, is their luxury brand which focuses mainly on technically inspired products. Their latest gadget is the Porsche Design P’9522 and is now made available in jet black color. The color is made from combining matt, black anodized aluminum and black mineral glass materials; while the phone’s casing is pounded from a block of solid aluminum. At the back of the phone there is a laser inscription that says “Porsche Design Black Edition.” Other features include a 2.8-inch display, 5-megapixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, and a microSD card slot.

Put simply, a tier-1 carrier possess a network in which it’s the sole operator- meaning it has a direct connection to the Internet and the networks it uses to deliver voice and data services.  Similarly, a tier-2 carrier operates the same way, except it may get a portion of its network from a tier-1 operator by way of a concept known as “peering,” which can be loosely defined as piggybacking onto the network already in place by a tier-1 source.

I’ve never really understood the fascination some folks seem to have with making their one mobile device look very much like a completely different one – making a Windows Mobile phone look like an iPhone, or an iPhone look like a Blackberry or a Windows machine, and so on.
