3D LCD TV – In Living Rooms Shortly

At the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, four of the top selling TV manufacturers–Samsung Electronics, Sony, LG Electronics and Panasonic–showed off their latest versions of 3D TVs. Panasonic set up a mini-home theater where its 103-inch, plasma 3D screen showed clips from Journey to the Center of the Earth and Walt Disney Pictures’ animated film Bolt. Panasonic also showed high-definition 3D footage from the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. Hollywood 3D TV makers believe that much of the demand for 3D will come from Hollywood, which is pushing 3D. Last year, DreamWorks announced that all its films will be produced for 3D production beginning in 2009.

Duplicating a key from a photograph

CNet news warn you not to flash your keys in public. Computer scientists at the University of California at San Diego have developed software that can make a duplicate of a key from just a distant photo of it using technology available to almost anyone. Referred to as Sneakey , the system is capable of “teleduplication–extracting a key’s complete and precise bitting code at a distance via optical decoding and then cutting precise duplicates,” according to Sneakey’s Web site. Part of the project’s mission is to make people realize that traditional keys are not really as safe as they might think.

Just Add Water to Charge Your Cell Phone ……Amazing

How many times have we heard of water damaging a cell phone or PDA ? Someone accidentally spilled some water on it, dropped it in the sink, or maybe pushed someone in the pool while it was still in their pocket. Sometimes you can save your wet cell or PDA, but what if instead of ruining our products, water will power them! Samsung is developing a cell phone battery that its fuel cells will run on Water. Sounds pretty cool right? The water combined with the cell phone metal interior will create Hydrogen gas , which will then generate energy when it reacts with Oxygen

5 tips to limit your cell phone risk

5 tips to limit your cell phone risk Image via Wikipedia Cell phones have been wildly popular for only a matter of years, and it can take at least a decade for cancers to show up. Studies contradict each other, and scientists bicker: Some will tell you with great conviction that there’s nothing to worry about. Others will tell you with equal conviction that an epidemic of brain tumors may be just around the corner. So what are we all to do until they figure it out? After enough interviews with physicists, engineers and doctors one common line of reasoning can be reached.

New Kingston DT50 USB Flash

Image via Wikipedia Kingston have announced that their range of DataTraveler DT50 USB fUSB flash memory drives has been supplemented with a new 64GB DataTraveler DT50 serving to double the capacity previously available in the DataTraveler DT50 range. ‘The new 64GB DataTraveler 150 takes transportable storage to the next level with big capacity in a small package,’ said Jaja Lin, Flash business development manager at Kingston, who announced the new 64GB DT50 drive. ‘As file sizes increase with digital media content such as music and photos, the need for USB Flash drives with high capacities will continue to rise. The DT150 certainly addresses those needs today.’ The new 64GB DataTraveler DT50 USB flash drive offers broad compatibility with Windows , Mac and Linux operating systems but (and it’s a big but) the Vista users should note that the new 64GB DataTraveler 150 is billed as NOT being Vista ReadyBoost compatible (no doubt due to the read/write speeds of the drive – which, incidentally, are not specified in Kingston’s press release – not being fast enough to merit the drive playing ball with ReadyBoost).
