Samsung Focus Windows Phone 7 device coming to Rogers

If Telus will be getting their hands on the HTC 7 Surround, Rogers , for their part, will be releasing the Samsung Focus as their first Windows Phone 7 offering. The Samsung Focus sports a 4-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, 5-megapixel camera with flash, and runs on a 1GHz processor with 8GB of internal memory expandable via microSD card. It’ll also come with a “ completely redesign user interface (IO) as well as applications such as Music Hub, People Hub, Office Hub and the ability to play games with Xbox LIVE. ” This one certainly looks like a worthy alternative and a good match-up to the HTC HD7 .

Root Most Android Smartphones Including Froyo by SuperOneClick: Video

Apparently there a new super-root method that’s hit the net called SuperOneClick that can just about root any Android device out there in smartphone space, including those running Android 2.2 Froyo . According to an article over on Gizmodo by Brian Barrett and by way of the guys over at XDA-developers , there still isn’t a complete list of Android devices SuperOneClick can root but apparently to start off it will root the Samsung Captivate , Motorola Droid and Nexus One. Apparently SuperOneClick also enables the user to side load applications onto handsets such as the HTC Aria and as you probably know AT&T placed a restriction on doing that, but not with SuperOneClick. Word is though SuperOneClick is currently only for Windows, but should be pushed over to Linux and Mac in the not too distant future. However caution is required when opting to use SuperOneClick to root your Android smartphone as it doesn’t carry an unroot button as yet.

Windows Phone 7 will have Copy and Paste in early 2011

Remember when Apple’s iPhone didn’t have cut and paste? Well, it looks like Windows Phone 7 is taking a page from that playbook. Apparently, the company is planning on not having that feature on the first round of WP7. I believe the official date is November 8 , but cut and paste isn’t coming until “early 2011″. Will that affect the sales?

Apple Trademarks "There’s an App For That"

According to Apple, the first documented use of its catchphrase, “There’s an app for that,” was on Jan. 26, 2009 – even though it feels like that tagline has been around for much longer. Now, thanks to a recently-granted trademark , Apple owns the phrase. The application for trademark was filed last December, and covers “Retail store services featuring computer software provided via the Internet and other computer and electronic communication networks; retail store services featuring computer software for use on handheld mobile digital electronic devices and other consumer electronics.” What the heck does this mean? Find out after the jump

Hands-on Photos of Windows Phone 7 – HTC Surround, Samsung Focus and More

Windows Phone 7 has finally landed. Today in New York, Steve Balmer launched Windows Phone 7 by saying that”The Windows Phone is a different kind of phone. Always delightful, wonderfully personal, and will help you get in, out, and back to life.” As corny as that sounds, so far it seems pretty true.

Review: Xobni For BlackBerry

Off the glowing recommendation of RIMarkable Robb, I decided to install the evaluation version of Xobni . If you look at just about any top 10 BlackBerry application list , Xobni, in many cases, ranks close to the top. I am, actually, kind of shocked by this considering that, although, I see some value in Xobni, there are glaring areas where the app fails miserably. I know that Xobni is one of those applications where the value is a bit more subtle and you need to use it a few times before you really realize it’s power, however, that being said, there are areas, in my opinion, where Xobni simply doesn’t work and is unreliable. Where Xobni Disappointed Adding Incorrect Numbers to Contacts Xobni collects contact information from a variety sources and publishes it to your Xobni contact list
