O2 Has Sold Over 2 Million iPhones In The UK

UK mobile phone operator O2, who has the exclusive contract to sell the Apple iPhone since it was launched in 2007, until recently, has announced that it has sold over two million iPhones in the UK. According to O2 their iPhone sales are still very strong, even though you can now buy an Apple iPhone in the UK from other mobile phone operators like Vodafone and Orange, and even Tesco, although the Tesco contract is actually an O2 one. O2 have come under criticism from iPhone owners because of their poor data service in certain areas of the UK, this is something I have experinced myself first hand as my iPhone is with O2. It will be interesting to see if O2 can retain its high iPhone sales over the next couple of years, and whether the other networks will be able to lure O2 customers away when new models of the Apple iPhone are released. via Tech Radar This is a post from Geeky Gadgets , who bring you the latest cool Gadgets

Rogers/Fido To Lower SIM Card Prices?

SIM Cards, or Subscriber Identification Modules, are the small smart cards that sit inside our iPhones and give us our connection to the cellular network. SIM Cards also come free with a phone/device purchase. Normally SIM cards have a long life, usually in excess of five years, but sometimes they “burn out” or are defective

Next iPhone may possibly record HD video in 720p?

Okay, so Apple’s iPod Nano doesn’t exactly have the best video recording of all gadgets, but HD video is gradually shaping up to be a crucial feature to be included in next-generation devices.  Some hints have surfaced that HD video may just be implemented on the next iPhone. If you’ve seen our post on the “N89” codename in the iPhone OS SDK, a tipster has just taken a look at the MediaValidator.plist file  - it reveals several enlightening stats: the maximum video width is up from 768 pixels to 1280, and the maximum number of pixels per frame is up to 921,600, resulting in a 1280 x 720 resolution. The device’s AVC profile has been bumped from 3.0 to 3.1, too, which adds support for 720p

OMG OMG OMG: An iPhone 4G Spy Shot

Because I love watching all the fanboys pop Apple boners and then yelling, “QUICK — EVERBODY LOOK!” while pointing and laughing, this is allegedly an iPhone 4G prototype sitting atop an iPad prototype . As you can see, it looks like a blurry iPhone. Possibly with a black bezel instead of a chrome one. But what really baffles me is why they decided to print ‘Eng’ on part of the screen

Next iPhone found in new SDK, codenamed N89, has support for 720p video recording

Apple launched the iPad exactly 1 week ago today , and although they said it wasn’t going to be shipping for another 60 days, they were nice enough to post a new version of the iPhone SDK (3.2) so that developers can start working on their new higher definition versions of iFart. Inside that SDK there just so happens to be some information about the next iPhone. Codenamed N89, the next iPhone has support for 720p video recording and version 3.1 of the AVC codec according to the MediaValidator.plist file that stores what types of media a device can handle. Does this mean the iPhone can record 720p video or simply be able to play it back?

Pegatron on board to make next iPhone, might do 720p video recording?

The silly little sensor in the latest-gen iPod nano might have you thinking that high-quality video recording isn’t anywhere on Apple’s radar, but if you look in the smartphone space, HD video is shaping up to be the next gotta-have-it feature among the world’s most buzzworthy handsets — and sure enough, we’re getting some hints here that it’ll be on board the next iPhone. Remember that mysterious “N89″ device in the iPhone OS 3.2 SDK? We’ve been tipped off that a gander at the MediaValidator.plist file reveals a few telling stats: the maximum video width is up from 768 pixels to 1280, and the maximum number of pixels per frame is up to 921,600, which just happens to work out to 1280 x 720. The device’s AVC profile has been bumped from 3.0 to 3.1, too, which adds in support for 720p — so yeah, all the signs are there, and industry trends pretty much require that we expect it at this point. On a related note, DigiTimes notes that ASUS spin-off Pegatron has allegedly been picked up as an OEM for the N89 (or whatever the new iPhone’s internal code happens to be) — but it won’t be alone

Jailbroken phones and iPhone OS 3.1.3 don’t mix

Some people may be glad to download iPhone OS 3.1.3, but I want to warn you not to upgrade it to a jailbroken iPhone. That’s right, consider yourself warned. You may not have a hard time messing around with this firmware until you get it right, but jailbroken iPhone users could have problems. Hands-On Preview: Pro Zombie Soccer for iPhone (with Video)

Not only does Super Awesome Hyper Dimensional Mega Team (or SAHDMT for short) does have one of the greatest names I’ve heard a video game developer ever have, but they also have combined the fun of kicking a soccer ball around with the fun of brutally murdering zombies. With that in mind, and my years of killing virtual zombies, I decided to take their flagship title, Pro Zombie Soccer , for a spin. Pro Zombie Soccer has you playing as a highly-skilled soccer player named Jax.  While looking for something to munch on, Jax is attacked by a super zombie who happened to be an even better soccer player than he was named Julinho.  With that bite, Jax is infected with Julinho’s soccer skills, so he decides to use his newly acquired skills to take out some attacking zombies
