A few minutes ago I was asked to write something about the different models of Windows Phone 7 that are out there. Then I’m like, there’s no way I’m writing about 10+ phones sight unseen, so I decided to limit the piece to the phones that will be available at launch right here in the U.S. Turns out there are five such phones, according to Microsoft. Only two carriers will have Windows Phone 7, um, phones at launch: AT&T and T-Mobile. On AT&T you’ve got the HTC Surround, the Samsung Focus, and the LG Quantum

Official Moleskine Covers Announced for iPhone and iPad

We’ve seen various covers for iPad that were knock-offs of the iconic Moleskine notebook, and we’ve seen DIY instructions to make your own Moleskine-style cover for iPad – but now we can have a real, official Moleskine cover for our iPads and iPhone 3G and 3GS! Moleskine has announced they are adding two new hybrid tools to their Folio Digital collection - introduced a few months ago with a Kindle cover. Both the Folio iPhone Cover and the Folio iPad Cover will have the classic black exterior, rounded corners, and the black elastic band closure. Inside, the covers are lined with suede to protect the device. There’s also room inside the cover to hold a Volant softcover Moleskine; a Volant with plain pages will be included with the covers. The Smartphone Cover was designed with the expectations that you’ll use Bluetooth or headphones with your phone. LG has published details of the LG Optimus 7 Windows 7 smartphone on their site, the details have since been taken down, but you can see the Google cache of the site, which shows that someone published the details before they were supposed to. We now know that the LG Optimus 7 will feature a 3.8 inch capacitive touchscreen display, a 5 megapixel camera with an LED flash, Bluetooth 2.1, a 3.5mm headphone jack and a 1500mAh battery. Other specifications include an accelerometer, proximity sensor, ambient light sensor and a digital compass, and it comes with 16GB of storage built in. The Optimus 7 was developed to fit at the heart of our digital lives. The Play-To feature was exclusively developed for the Optimus 7 to allow DLNA based multimedia-sharing

The Nokia C7 is now shipping to customers according to an official press release . This comes less than 2 weeks after the news that the N8 started to ship, meeting the planned deadline of “Q3 2010″ by the narrowest of margins. Unlike the N8 however, the C7 was announced less than a month ago, on September 14th , making this one of the quickest turn arounds I’ve ever seen of a Nokia device

We never cease to be amused by what passes as acceptable marketing material when trying to justify astronomic price tags of some high end audio equipment. Take these $2,750 Edition 10 headphones from Ultrasone: [They feature] open-back ear cups with galvanic Ruthenium plating and a Zebrano wood inlay, Ethiopian sheepskin leather ear cup pads, Titanium-plated 40mm drivers, silver-plated OFC 99.99% pure copper wires with Kevlar casing, S-Logic Plus technology… We actually reviewed a set of Ultrasone headphones way back in 2006 and found them to be a little meh. Then again, they were only a $150 model and certainly didn’t have any of that douchetastic look to them, so perhaps are different? Full press release and links after the break.
