Cricket Wireless Lands Kyocera E3100 Rio Touchscreen Phone

This is a great news for Cricket Wireless customers as the budget carrier is set to launch a brand new touch screen phone – Kyocera E3100 Rio. The E3100 Rio features a nice 2.8-inch touch-sensitive display (320 x 240 resolution), GPS, a MP3 music player, WAP 2.0 browser, Bluetooth, a 1.3-megapixel digital camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microSD memory expansion slot (supports up to 16GB). The pricing of the phone is not yet released.

According to research by Dolby Laboratories , a shift is happening in how Americans prefer to experience entertainment, with approximately 60% of surveyed college students now using their PCs, and not televisions, most for entertainment. The majority of students also believe PCs deliver the best overall entertainment experience and as a result, they expect higher quality audio to accompany the graphics quality they are getting on their screens. The survey also found that 77% like to listen to music using their PC and 70% like to watch video using their PC. This survey is no surprise to us since it seems like many people nowadays are replacing the TVs in their home with entertainment driven laptops.

MTS in Canada today announced a new messaging phone – Kyocera Torino S2300. The Torino S2300 phone features a full QWERTY keyboard, 1.3-megapixel digital camera, Bluetooth, headphone jack, and a color LCD display (non-touch). The phone will be sold for $29.99 with a 3-year contract agreement. Voice plan starting at $19.99.
