It’s a good thing that these stainless steel insects can’t move or procreate… otherwise we’ve have an unstoppable metal epidemic on our hands. Instead the bugs come completely flat, cut from a metal card. You need to remove them from the card and carefully bend them into shape, creating mini metallic works of art in the process

As a comment to that post, reader Peter Condes shares the following (thanks man!): Steetviewing ’round the streets of Philadelphia, I found this guy: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=39.966793,-75.16202&spn=0.04289,0.073986&z=14&layer=c&cbll=39.953406,-75.160307&cbp=1,345.5305466237942,,1,5 Looks pretty.. tired? Yes Peter, most likely tired of being hopeless and with no hope

The Web was just the proof of concept
I recently wrote about how I’m excited to see what Apple will unveil this week. At the time I thought it was merely the technologists and early adopters who were eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Apple tablet. However, I have since learned that the average consumer wants one, too. To be clear, I’ve been doing
Nokia announced on Thursday that they will be offering free navigation capabilities on their smart phones too after the same announcement rocked the GPS standalone world when Google offered their innovative navigation App on Android phones. “So, What?” you ask. Nokia isn’t in the US, Navigation on smart phones stink anyway? this might just be the tipping point for the mobile phone and stand alone GPS world. Big Share Player Goes to Free Navigation – Nokia has a huge share of the mobile phone market globally, especially in Europe, maybe someone can dig that up and post it below
thomson technicolor pommes: mystery iptv tablet has nothing to do with apple
While I was buzzing about over on the FCC website today, I came across this mysterious new device from France’s Thomson and Technicolor called the PoMMeS. The funny thing is that the word “pomme” is the French word for “apple”, so in a way, you are looking at the first pics of an apple tablet. The gadget is a wireless multimedia playback device, and according to the PoMMeS user manual , it’s designed to proved access to TV programs, VOIP video calling, as well as web browsing and other online services. The 8-inch, 800 x 480 LCD touchscreen includes a stylus, so I’m not sure if you can use your fingertips to control it or not
Are you all about an ergonomic workspace? Me, I’m a slouching, crossleg sitting, traditional mouse and keyboard using geek. That doesn’t mean that I don’t ‘think’ about trying alternative input devices though. I happened to run across the Emotion Trackbar Ergonomic Mouse and it seems more unusual than most. It has two 1000 dpi optical sensors.

Google enables extension and bookmark syncing for Chrome on Windows
Today, Google released an updated version of its Chrome web browser for the Windows platform, adding a highly requested feature: extension and bookmark syncing. Linux fans, although currently able to install extensions, won’t have access to bookmark and extension syncing just yet. As for Mac users, Google had this to say, “hang tight — we’re working on bringing extensions, bookmark sync and more to the beta soon.” Firefox users who leverage the XMarks (formerly FoxMarks) extension know the value of bookmark syncing, and many FF users — present company included — lust for an easy way to keep extensions synchronized between multiple computers. Perhaps this latest move by the Chrome team will spark the likes of Apple and Mozilla to think about building more synchronization functionality into their respective browsers? Until that does happen, all interested parties can head over to google.com/chrome to check out the latest build.

Smartphone Dependency: All Of Your Mind Are Belong To Apps
As a new media aficionado with a fascination for the shift towards mobile technology, I was oddly amused by the Toronto Star report entitled *cue horror movie suspense music* Are apps stealing our minds? In the iPhone world alone, there are over a 100,000 apps with the a tag line “there’s an app for that.” Yes, this suggests that a simple piece of technology will offer you a blanket solution to all of life’s dilemmas, including boredom; so its no surprise we have a dependency on apps – they do everything for us. Dependent on a piece of technology? nothing new

More Junk to Hang Off Your BackPack – But It’s YOUR Junk
I bumbled across this on Lifehacker : Make Photo Necklaces, Earrings, Magnets and More Using Shrink able Plastic . Make your own zipper pulls, earrings, nose rings, key chain fobs, dog collar fobs, cell phone fobs, wine glass fobs, e-reader fob, blah blah blah. The technique involves the “Shrinky Dink” shrinkable plastic from waaaay back in the day, when you trace… out a picture on the shrinkable plastic with permanent markers (which were hard to find back then, too), bake in the oven (burn your fingers), and out comes a miniaturized hard-plastic alter id of the original. Not overly useful for kids, but for geeks? Holy bunny rabbit, the possibilities are endless.

You can see his winning entry above, and also feel free to check out his YouTube Channel for some more cool videos. And in addition I also wanted to send out a big thanks to everyone else that entered
Contrary to popular belief, there are more than a few girl gamers out there, serving up their own brand of pwnage with a smile. When it comes to game development, women continue to be an underrepresented segment of the industry. Sony Online Entertainment is doing their part to remedy the situation with the G.I.R.L. scholarship
