iPhone 4G, The Next Generation Hands-On Live Pictures
From Gizmodo: “You are looking at Apple’s next iPhone. It was found lost in a bar in Redwood City, camouflaged to look like an iPhone 3GS.” What’s new: • Front-facing video chat camera • Improved regular back-camera (the lens is quite noticeably larger than the iPhone 3GS) • Camera flash • Micro-SIM instead of standard SIM (like the iPad) • Improved display. It’s unclear if it’s the 960×640

From BGR: “Same story as last year and the year before, but we’ve confirmed with multiple AT&T sources that the carrier has now put a block on employees taking vacations in June. The only time AT&T does a straight block like this is for iPhone launches. What’s interesting is, if AT&T is blocking June, perhaps the iPhone will launch a little earlier than July this year”.

What’s Nokia and Newegg Up To?
Happy Easter, from Nokia & Newegg to you. A little something arrived in my mailbox yesterday…(updated!) A large Cadbury “crunchie” Easter egg, courtesy of the fine folks over at Womworld . That was mysterious in itself, but included in the box was a message that read “We just wanted to let you know of a new exciting project between Nokia & Newegg.com…keep your eyes peeled for more information!” Interesting. The million dollar question is, of course, just what is this new project/partnership? Nokia makes cell phones and accessories, and Newegg is one of the Web’s favorite retailers (it’s definitely one of mine, next to Amazon).

Gartner has released a comprehensive report on the list of smartphone platforms sale of mobile phones worldwide. In its reports, gartner has enlisted the iPhone at number three, right behind Nokia’s Symbian OS and the RIM software used in Blackberry devices. More importantly, the report reveals that Apple’s unit share has more than doubled in the last year, from 11.4 million units in 2008 to more than 24 million in 2009. Gartner claims iPhone sales made up 14 percent of the smartphone market last year to WinMo’s 9 percent, but that still puts Apple behind the other two leaders in the market: BlackBerry manufacturer RIM in third place with 20 percent, Finnish firm Nokia still ahead with a mighty 47 percent
