LG has come out with another one of its slider phone for the Italian market. Called the GU280 Popcorn, the phone offers a 2-inch 176 x 220 TFT display, a 1.3MP camera, a 20MB of internal memory, a microSD card slot (up to 4GB), a music player, Bluetooth and supports both GSM/GPRS/EDGE (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) as well as UMTS/HSDPA connectivities. Its battery provides up to 4 hours of talk time and up to 100 hours in standby mode. Pricing info is still unknown at the moment.

T-Mobile has started to ship its webConnect Jet modem and T-Mobile Tap handset. The Tap is a 3G touchscreen handset that will hook up to T-Mobile’s web2go service. NTT DoCoMo has expanded its cell phone series by releasing the Fujitsu F-10B. Measuring 114mm x 51mm x 17.3mm and weighing 141grams, this clamshell handset provides a 3.4 inch touchscreen display with a VGA resolution allowing you to write something on pictures and send text messages faster. The phone also supports a 12-megapixel camera with face recognition, Autofocus and a 6.2X super zoom. Other features include GPS, Dolby Mobile for 5.1 channel surround output, HSDPA and GSM for international roaming.

Nokia, the world’s largest cellphone manufacturer, on Monday announced a recall of some 14 million faulty cellphone chargers.The chargers affected are models AC-3E and AC-3U, manufactured between June 15 and August 9, 2009, and model AC-4U, manufactured between April 13 and October 25, 2009. The chargers have been made by Huizhou BYD Electronic Nokia today said that the plastic covers of these chargers could come loose and open up to expose the internal components which could shock the user if handled improperly. Nokia said it was not aware of any injuries or incidents related to these chargers. They will be replaced by new chargers and you should definitely return yours and get a free new one that should be a lot safer. Nissan and NTT DoCoMo has collaborated to use Nissan’s Scratch Shield for NTT DoCoMo’s mobile phones to be introduced in Japan. FYI, the Scratch Shield is actually the world’s first in paint technology that was commercially introduced in December, 2005. This technology was developed in collaboration with University of Tokyo and Advanced Softmaterials Inc. This self-healing paint is currently applied to certain Nissan and Infiniti vehicles worldwide. The Scratch Shield paint self-heals fine scratches and is capable of restoring the vehicles’ paint surfaces overnight or up to a week’s time in more severe cases

Rogers Canada is apparently set to release HTC’s first Windows Mobile 6.5 device, the HTC Touch2. The Windows Mobile 6.5 phone is reportedly coming onboard in one or more colors that aren’t normally picked for the phone; blue and red are both being considered as choices. And it’s rumored that the phone will support North America-native 3G. Otherwise, the Touch2 offers a 2.8-inch resistive touchscreen, Microsoft Mobile OS 6.5, GPS, Wi-Fi, and the touch-sensitive zoom strip borrowed from HTC’s more advanced phones. Apparently it looks for other iPhones where the device is networked and spreads its dirty work. It makes use of the pre-installed SSH which is perceived to be unintentionally activated in jailbroken phones
