YouTube Mobile Site Updated

One of the main motivators for innovation within the mobile industry is delivering access to multimedia content, whenever, wherever. One of the major players within this sector is YouTube , which has been allowing access to video from mobile phones, via the dedicated YouTube mobile website, since 2007. Initially YouTube gave access to about 1,000 videos for mobile users, which considering the limitations set by hardware and phone operating systems at the time was pretty impressive. Since then the YouTube mobile site has given access to a wider number of videos to mobile users, with the mobile site now delivering more than 100 million video playbacks a day, and now the website has been enhanced helping to deliver a better all round experience. The main benefit is an increase in speed, and it is possible to favourite, like and dislike videos straight from your device.

Apple App Store Suffers Hack Attack

Apple said Tuesday that it removed a seller from its online applications store after discovering that he gamed the store’s sales ranking system to make it appear as though his e-books accounted for 42 of the site’s top 50 electronics books. Apple said the hack was carried about by a developer named Thuat Nguyen. “His apps were removed from the App Store for violating the developer Program License Agreement, including fraudulent purchase patterns,” Apple said in a statement. The company did not provide details about how Nguyen managed to rig its sales data. Some observers are speculating that he merely manipulated sales figures, while others believe Nguyen may have actually gained access to App Store user accounts to make unauthorized purchases.

5 Reasons for Hybrid Cloud-based Email Computing

I am hearing more and more from IT managers, directors and administrators about how can they best use Cloud Computing in their environment. IT directors and administrators want the least costly solutions for the companies they represent but at the same time they must balance those costs against security and control of their systems. New technologies are often met with resistance to the point that they are not fully embraced at introduction. So, usually there is a transition period where the technologies or business practices of today are merged with the future technologies of tomorrow that have not yet fully matured such as with the case of all electric powered motor vehicles.
