Apple might have to battle the DoJ and FTC over decision to ban Adobe’s Flash compiler
Uh ohs. The world has begun to move on after Steve Job’s public decrying of Flash (and the subsequent word-by-word breakdowns) and the pre-emptive App Store banishment of Adobe’s Flash-to-iPhone compiler — but not everyone is willing to just let go

Apple iPad Reaches ‘One Million Sold’ Twice as Fast as iPhone
Apple announced on Monday that it has sold over one million iPad devices over the internet and in its retail outlets, following the Friday release of the 3G version of the device, which can connect to the internet via cellular data networks in addition to WiFi. Naysayers who jokingly derided the device as a large iPhone with no phone function have been proven wrong about people not wanting exactly that — a testament to the powerful allure of these devices, which sit in a new category of computing somewhere between the smartphone and the netbook. “One million iPads in 28 days — that’s less than half of the 74 days it took to achieve this milestone with iPhone,” said Apple CEO Steve Jobs. “Demand continues to exceed supply,” he claimed, “and we’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more customers.” This 28-day figure doesn’t seem quite as impressive if you correlate the 3G iPad to the iPhone, and the WiFi-only iPad to the WiFi-only iPod Touch, because the iPhone and iPod Touch reached the combined one million mark about as fast as the iPads did. In addition, Apple said it shipped 500,000 units of the WiFi-only iPad within the first week, so sales have slowed since then, relatively speaking, even with Friday’s introduction of the 3G model.

DOJ and/or FTC may launch antitrust inquiry against Apple for developer policies
The New York Post is reporting that the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission are, “locked in negotiations over which of the watchdogs will begin an antitrust inquiry into Apple’s new policy of requiring software developers who devise applications for devices such as the iPhone and iPad to use only Apple’s programming tools.” The Post, claiming to have “sources familiar with the matter,” goes on to say that the two government agencies, “are days away from making a decision about which agency will launch the inquiry.” The Post speculates that the inquiry is a byproduct of Apple’s hard-line on Flash, however, 9 to 5 Mac speculates (probably more accurately) that the inquiry is driven by Apple’s recent ban on third-party “rapid app development tools” and restrictions on “unauthorized programming code” as mandated by the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement . Whatever the reasoning, it looks like Apple’s General Council will continue to earn their keep. What do you think? Should Apple have the right to exert totalitarian control over their development ecosystem… or, should they play nice and let others join in the fun

Apple sells 1 million iPads (only in the US)
First presented in January and launched on April 3, the Apple iPad was sold in more than 1 million units until now – only in the US, since international shipments have been postponed due to high demand. As previously reported, 300,000 iPads were sold in the first day of availability. Apple also announced that iPad owners have downloaded more than 1.5 million ebooks from iBookstore, and more than 12 million apps.

Video: BlackBerry Super Apps Sound Cool… I’d Sure Like To See A Few Developed
At WES2010 last week, RIM put out a video of developers from various companies talking about “Super Apps”. From the sounds of it, Super Apps are pretty cool BlackBerry applications. What would be even cooler is if a few BlackBerry Super Apps were actually developed. RIM CEO, Mike Lazaridis says that Facebook and Myspace for BlackBerry are “Super Apps” . I’ve seen them both of them, and, quite honestly, there is nothing super about either of them less maybe the number of times that they’ve been downloaded. Create your own ringtones with MP3 Ringtone Creator
There are plenty of applications out there that allow you to create your own ringtones. Many of them perform the function for free, using the music already on your computer. That’s the one problem, though. Creating a ringtone on your computer means using that application there, and then transferring the song to your BlackBerry

Interview with Eldar Murtazin, part 1. Nokia N8 leak, market prospects and Symbian^3
Last Monday a short rant of impressions about upcoming, yet unannounced Nokia N8 handset, and other things Nokia, caused quite a firestorm of negative publicity about Finnish cellphone giant. It seems that almost every tech news site, and even some mainstream news outlets, picked up the line, that Nokia screwed up their upcoming flagship again. Most likely, it even made Nokia announce their new N8 handset several weeks earlier then planned. The author of that explosive missive was Eldar Murtazin, Editor in Chief of a well known Russian mobile gadget site Mobile-review.com . Now, that with the help of extremely fast reaction, well executed launch campaign, and completely unexpected low price of N8 , Nokia managed to turn most of the skeptics into believers, I got in touch with Eldar to find out what he really thinks about Nokia N8.

Nokia Qt SDK Beta released
Only a few day’s ago, Nokia officially released the Nokia Qt SDK which is a Nokia focused version of the original Qt SDK, and allows better development of applications for all Symbian, MeeGo (sorry does not support MeeGo yet but I’m sure this will come soon) and Maemo operating systems which means games, and applications can work great of all platforms. This is better for developers as it means that they are able to port their application across to a much greater number of consumers quicker, the developers in the video below stated that they have: rewritten an application from native Symbian into Qt in 3-4 weeks seen their applications available in the Ovi store a week after submitting reached customers in 178 countries in just 48 hours of launching their application Now the developers currently making Apple app store, apps have no excuse, if they make their app using Qt, they will reach probably 10 times more consumers and also have a much greater chance of seeing the light of day, without the worry of creating something which is against Apple’s many overly strict rules. So developer’s if you are reading this, start writing!!! To download the development tool, just head over to the Forum Nokia page: http://www.forum.nokia.com/Tools_Docs_and_Code/Tools/IDEs/Nokia_Qt_SDK/ Don’t worry I have not forgot about us consumers, it is a lot better for us too, now if developer’s can make app’s quicker and across more platforms, it means the number of applications in the Ovi store should multiply in no time at all, so more free apps to choose from, more premium apps which you might be willing to pay for, and more competition between developers to make better apps and for a lower price!!
