Adobe Mobile Commerce Survey: 80% Of Respondents Utilize Mobile Web Over Apps

On the heels of our post earlier today regarding a panel discussion at the eTail 2010 summit over mobile apps vs. the mobile Web when it comes to a mobile commerce strategy, Adobe has published a new survey that should shed some light on the debate. Adobe’s “Scene7 Rich Mobile Commerce Survey” was conducted from July 6 to July 23, 2010, to identify businesses’ strategic and tactical plans for mobile commerce over the next year. The survey received 446 responses from representatives at leading enterprises worldwide – with most coming from North America. Of the respondents, it found that 80 percent of companies were planning, or had already deployed a mobile website, compared to the 8 percent of respondents that were interested in applications. Granted, Adobe has a vested interest in the mobile Web over mobile apps — as its Flash technology is more prevalent and accepted there — but the survey still sheds an interesting light

If you’ve finished all of the Vampire Weekend and Rolling Stones tracks on Guitar Hero for iPhone ($2.99 – review here ), Activision has just released a few more $1.99 song packs to sink your fingers into: Song Pack featuring Band of Horses (“Laredo”), Coldplay (“Life in Technicolor II”) and Nada Surf (“Weightless”) KISS Song Pack: “Love Gun”, “Lick It Up”, and “I Love It Loud” Motörhead Song Pack: “Iron Fist”, “Ace Of Spades”, and “Overkill” I’m sure I’ll get some flak from all the incredibly mighty and macho men that read JAiB, but I do wish that they had included a few more Coldplay songs. Is Facebook For BlackBerry 1.8 Getting Released Soon?

There are rumors floating around that the release of Facebook for BlackBerry version 1.8 is imminent. The version on BlackBerry App World and at http://www.blackberry.com/facebook is still 1.6, however, the chatter about 1.8 being release very soon (possibly today) is picking up. Colorize I was a huge fan of Color Splash for the iPhone and had hoped to see some app like that on WP7 , now thanks to Kitron Software I don’t think I will need to wait that long. Colorize for Windows Phone 7 will let you quickly give photos stunning effect by converting them to black and white, while keeping certain details that you choose in color.
