Konami Releases First Trailer for Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night for iPhone

Last month , Konami announced they’d be releasing a Castlevania title for the iPhone. I was surprised when what they announced wasn’t a true side-scrolling Castlevania adventure game that we all grew up playing, but instead it was a puzzle game. Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night is a match-3 falling-block puzzle game similar to Capcom’s Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo , and judging by the trailer that was just released, it might actually be pretty awesome. After watching the trailer, I think the game might be a mix between Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo and Puzzle Quest as it looks like you can perform magical attacks against your opponent. Also, the game seems to have some kind of story mode as Alucard can be seen making his way through levels and having dialog with his opponents before a battle.

Pirata Boat Race gets your iPhone/iPod Touch into the rowing game

The Pirata Boat Race from Pirata London on Vimeo . Okay, the award for best use of an iPhone/iPod Touch in an online game goes to Pirata Boat Race by Pirata London. You can watch the video of it in the video here, and it is one of the most unique video games that I have ever seen. What happens is that the user syncs their iPhone with the website via the camera, or a code for the iPod Touch. After that, it is a matter of moving the virtual boat on a PC screen by rowing with the iPhone

AirMicro A1 microscope syncs wirelessly with the iPad

This is the AirMicro A1 microscope, which is a microscope designed to sync to the iPad. It is from Scalar Corporation, a Japanese company that hopes to sell 50,000 of these units. I’m guessing that the market would be schools if they are going for those types of numbers.

Cyborg Rights Get Discussed, Theory Is Quickly Becoming Reality

When many of us think about Cyborgs we picture Caprica,  Battlestar Galatica or Dr. Who, but in reality Cyborg technology is emerging at tremenous rates, making it possible for people to walk again, to see where sight was once not found and even to control technological devices through body-to-device interfacing. Basically, it should come as no surprise that Cyborg rights are starting to make their first real appearances.

The demand for the iPhone 4 is sure to be massive so if you’re planning on getting one (I know I am) be sure to get a pre-order in on June 15th with a retailer of your chooser. Google upset with Apple’s new advertising rules

Omar Hamou, founder of Google’s AdMob, expressed concerns with Apple’s new advertising policies for its iAd products. For one, developers won’t be able to use Google’s AdMob technology to advertise on Apple products. That’s a big deal, considering AdMob ran one-third of the ads on Apple products in April. Destroy9 for iPhone and iPod Touch free for one day

For those who like the real-time strategy games might enjoy Destroy9. It is available for free for the iPhone and iPod Touch until June 10, so that means you have one day to this writing. This app has 3D graphics, online leaderboards, and an original soundtrack by Akinatz. I’m not certain what this game is about, except a “Great Retake the Earth”. I’m also not certain why it is called Destroy9

(mini)How-To: Refill your DTG inks

The number one and number two things asked after presentation of our DIYDTG were… “How does it hold up in the wash?” and… “How did you change out the inks?” While we’ve explained the first several times (regular ink washes out, DTG ink gets a little lighter but survives) we can hopefully answer the second with a tutorial. To change out or refill the Epson cartridges we used was relatively simple. You’ll need a few supplies. -Old/used (or new, but you would be wasting ink) Epson cartridge -DTG ink (we recommend DTGinks.com ) – SSC utility (this lets your trick the printer into thinking it has a fresh cartridge) -Windex (ammonia base won’t rust the print head) -Plastic syringe -Flat head screw driver -Hot glue -Electrical tape -Small cup -Rags (ink gets everywhere) -Resolve or other stain remover (to clean up said ink everywhere) -Time (a lot of it) -(Optional) sponge from other printers -(Optional) latex gloves -Original head waste collection piece from printer

Adobe promises fix for Flash vulnerability by tomorrow, Reader and Acrobat fix on June 29th

Well, it looks like Adobe isn’t wasting much time in fixing that “critical” Flash vulnerability that could allow remote hijacking of a user’s computer, but it’s a slightly different story when it comes to patching Adobe Acrobat and Reader. According to Adobe, the Flash fix will be rolled out by tomorrow at the latest, but it says the fix for Reader and Acrobat won’t be available until June 29th. Somewhat curiously, Adobe says it had considered rushing out a “one-off 0-day” fix for Reader and Acrobat as soon as possible, but says that would have caused too much “churn and patch management overhead on our users” considering there’s already a regular quarterly update scheduled for July 13th. So, instead, Adobe has decided to push that update up to June 29th and simply include the fix for the vulnerability with it. In the meantime?
