iPad Wi-Fi + 3G gets torn apart
Whether it be because you’re an admirer of the gear, or you just enjoy seeing Apple products stripped of their dignity, you have to admit it’s mighty satisfying to see the new iPad Wi-Fi + 3G torn asunder. The guys at iFixit continued their tradition of promptly tearing down and analyzing the latest Apple products with the 3G iPad and noted some pretty interesting finds in the process: The immediate visible difference is the inclusion of a black plastic RF window on top of the iPad for better antenna reception.

Mike Mace on the Palm/HP merger
Long-term followers of the Palm OS market will still remember Mike Mace – he once was the director of competitive analysis at PalmSource’s. Like Adam Tow, he frequently comments on the happenings at his old employer’s – his oppinion on the merger reads as follows: It could have been worse. A lot worse. Many of the companies rumored to be looking at Palm would have bought it mostly for the patents or the brand, and tossed aside everything else.

PSP Mini pricing looks ridiculous beside the App Store
I’ve said it before, but I’m saying it again: I can’t believe the silliness that Sony calls Minis for the PSP are still around at their current price ranges. iPhone titles like Fieldrunners ($2.99 iPhone, $6.99 PSP) and Hero of Sparta ($1.99 iPhone, $4.99 PSP) are actually more expensive on the Mini store. It’s true that Hero of Sparta started out as a more expensive $9.99 title, but it seems absurd that PSP Mini pricing doesn’t even try to match the iPhone pricing after all this time has passed. This doesn’t even take into account the fact that you can legally share your app licenses with a few family members, since apps are tied to iTunes accounts, and not devices.

Symbian unveils new web app development tools
Symbian released its web application development tools, making application development on the platform “as easy as creating a webpage.” In other words, any web developer with a knowledge of HTML, CSS and some JavaScript can create mobile apps that run on Symbian smartphones, including the newly unveiled Nokia N8 . The good thing about these tools is that they allow accessing even some of the phone’s deep device capabilities — including contacts, camera, sensors, location, etc. — with JavaScript (there are special APIs for accessing phone-specific features).

Superheroes Solve World War II
I know that this is not totally new but while I have imported some entries from my former ‘geek’ blog to FG, I thought this deserved to be highlighted more than just being there, in the archives. Deviant art member TOYIB has published his image edit, catapulting some of our most loved loved super heroes in to WWII situations. Although he only upped some pictures so far, the results are impressive and it would be awesome to see even more heroes than just Batman, Spiderman, Superman and Darth Vader in WWII situations
