Fresco Logic has Big Plans for its Uber-fast USB 3.0 Host Controller
The lack of native chipset support for USB 3.0 has created a large demand for discrete host controllers. This upsurge in demand has compelled a number of fab manufacturers, including NEC, ASMedia, Texas Instrument, VIA and etc., to enter the market to fill the void left by Intel. Now, even smaller companies want a piece of the pie. Fresco Logic’s latest two-port USB 3.0 controller, dubbed FL1009 , makes full use of PCI Express 2.0 x1.
8 Useful Public Folder Management Scripts in Exchange Server 2010
Exchange Server 2010 ships with eight very useful Powershell scripts that can be used for managing Public Folders. The scripts perform tasks relating to Public Folder replicas and permissions that are otherwise not easily manageable through the management console or shell. Each of the scripts is developed for making recursive changes to public folders. This means that when you target the script at a particular folder, or the root of the public folder tree, it applies the action to all subfolders of that folder. These scripts only apply to servers running Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010, you can not specify a server running older versions of Exchange Server.
P rivacy has been, is and will remain one of the most hotly debated issues within both the web and mobile domains for time to come. Only last week, a probe by German, French, Spanish and Italian authorities gathered steam as fears of Google’s Streetview data-gathering exercise appeared to have breached several national privacy rules. The debate has many dimensions: what should be in the ‘public’ domain?
Philips’ Super Slick Travel USB Speakers are a Rare Burst of Style & Innovation
Philips hasn’t exactly been an innovator in the area of style in our opinion. No disrespect intended, they are a bastion of quality and durability. Every Philips product we’ve ever owned is still running, boring but running. These “Dancing Twin” USB PC speakers, out today, are form and function that you might only expect from Apple or LaCie . The portable speakers have a very modern look and are solely powered by USB

Magicians try to rate awesome iForce magic app into oblivion
So, you know how magicians never wanna let the cat out of the bag and reveal how their tricks work? Well, there’s an awesome iPhone app called iForce which turns out to be a fun magic trick. The problem, though, is that it is so good that magicians purchase it and then rate the app with one star in the App Store. It isn’t because they don’t like it, as their actual comments are nothing but glowing—they rate it one star so that people think the app sucks, and therefore won’t buy it, and therefore won’t know how it works when a magician uses it on them
Apple surpasses Microsoft in market cap, becomes second biggest US company
Yesterday, for the first time ever, Apple, Inc. surpassed Microsoft in market capitalization, making Apple the most valuable tech company in the US, and the second-largest in the country, behind Exxon Mobil. We’ve gotta say, we’re surprised and very interested in how all this went down. I mean, Microsoft just makes so many more products than Apple does, so much more software, and even has the wildly popular Xbox gaming division to boot, and all the software income that comes along with that platform.
James Bond could use a gadget like the USB cuff links. How else could you slurp GBs of data from a secure area then waltz out without anyone knowing. Ok granted that’s a poor example of how you could use the USB cuff links, but it makes you wonder, they would be kinda cool. Designer Ravi Ratan is looking to up your geek look with the expensive $195 links and with storage to 4GBs no less. For those seriously considering this, also consider the possibility for engraving of up to eight letters. Source: UberGizmo. Powered By: 2010 USB Powered Gadgets and more.. .
The stylish Bowers & Wilkins MM-1 PC speakers produce stellar audio that’s out of all proportion to their tiny size. They’re not particularly portable and they’re very expensive, but the MM-1s are the best speakers of their type that we’ve heard. You can use them with an MP3 player or smart phone too
Since spam has reared its ugly head on the Internet, its antagonists have waged an uphill struggle to block its arrival in inboxes. That battle, though, has remained largely reactive. White Hats expend enormous amounts of energy to extinguish the latest fire set by spammers so that good mail can make it to its destination unsinged. Much of that energy could be saved, however, if spam fighters focused their efforts on what’s good in the email stream instead of what’s bad

10 Tech Predictions I Made In 2007, But Forgot To Hit “Publish”
In 2007 I made a bunch of tech predictions that would occur no later than the year 2010. Unfortunately I forgot to hit “publish” on my personal blog. Here are those predictions, seen for the first time ever in 2010. 10
The moment came today when Apple, the maker of iPods, iPhones and iPads, shot past Microsoft, the computer software giant, to become the world’s most valuable technology company. This changing of the guard caps one of the most stunning turnarounds in business history for Apple, which had been given up for dead only a decade earlier, and its co-founder and visionary chief executive, Steven P. Jobs. As of Wednesday, Wall Street valued Apple at $222.12 billion and Microsoft at $219.18 billion. The only American company valued higher is Exxon Mobil, with a market capitalization of $278.64 billion.
