7 Days with the Nokia X3
Introduction Competition in the mobile industry is fierce, and there are a number of manufacturers who are chasing hard the number one position that has been held for so long by Nokia. Not one to rest on their laurels, Nokia are slowly re-aligning their handset line up, including a new naming culture for their devices which should make it easier for consumers to know more about the phone before they purchase. Handsets will be designated by a single letter which will indicate the market focus of the device, whilst the number of the phone will show the level of technical specification. The existing N Series and E Series device names will be retained, and these will be joined by C Series and X Series. Two handsets have been released by Nokia in the X Series range so far, the X6 and X3 and we’ve had an X3 in the office over the last couple of weeks to review.

Nokia OVI App Wizard: How I created Unwired View App for OVI Store in 15 minutes
As more and more people start accessing the Web from their phones, it’s getting ever more important for publishers to optimize our sites for mobile experience. One way to do that – is to create a version of the site, optimized for mobile browsers. But now the other trend is emerging – stand alone apps for a site or blog, to run on Android, iPhone or Symbian OS. The problem with the stand alone apps is, that you have to know how to make them. Or hire some who does

Marc Jacobs Sketchy Miss Marc Laptop Case
This latest designer laptop case oddly resembles me on a bad day back in the 90’s. Created by Marc Jacobs, the Sketchy Miss Marc Laptop Case fits a 17″ laptop (which is great since there aren’t enough cases for those sized laptops) and is made of a denim material, gold hardware, and a Miss Marc print canvas design. Sketchy Miss Marc Laptop Case comes in two designs – one featuring a brunette and another a blond and each retails for $78.

When we released our top BlackBerry apps list a few weeks ago, we named a number of applications that we haven’t gotten to featuring on the site. That’s going to happen with a list that prolific. One of those applications, Poynt, just got an upgrade, so it seems like as good a time as any to feature it. Poynt is an excellent tool for any BlackBerry user.

The Costco Prank
Would-be pranksters: get out a pad and pen. You’re going to want to take notes. Rob Cockerham , prankster extraordinaire, recently noticed something that (surprisingly) no one else ever has: the price tags Costco uses on its shelves are just basic text in a common font, on plain white paper. Hence, they’d be remarkably easy for anyone to create

Magellan 1700 – Hugescreen GPS – $179 at Costco
The Magellan 1700, hugescreen (7-inch) GPS is available at Costco for $179, after a $50 discount. The Magellan 1700 offers some pretty good features like one touch commands, giving you access to key functions in the swipe of a finger, lane assist, text to speech and maps of the US and Canada. The partnership between AAA and Magellan also brings a great set of POI information with ratings and reviews of certain locations around you when you are on the road. One feature I like is the highway exit POI lookup, giving you the ability to figure out what’s available at the next exit; good food or bad, gas station or not….
