AT&T rumored to lose iPhone exclusivity this Wednesday?

“But it’s tied down to AT&T…” Those may be words that you’ll never hear again when it comes to the iPhone. Now, it’s not written in stone just yet, but one of Hot Hardware’s inside sources feels very confident that AT&T will lose its iPhone exclusivity during Apple’s big announcement this week. If this is true, coupled with an announcement / beta release of iPhone 4.0, Apple’s iPhone sales could skyrocket — especially since some people have avoided the iPhone like the plague strictly because of AT&T. Where will the iPhone go

Review: Rafter, a DaVinci-inspired physics game for iPhone [iPhone App Reviews]

version 1.0 Rafter is 21 levels of Da Vinci-inspired fun. The action doesn’t last very long, but this $0.99 title is definitely worth the money. That’s because Rafter presents one of the better physics-based puzzle engines I’ve seen out on the iPhone. The gameplay is actually very simple: draw a shape at the top of the screen and have it drop onto the red mine at the bottom of the screen.  Then again, as the screenshot above illustrates, it’s not quite that easy. Sony Ericsson Vivaz Review

Sony Ericsson need to produce some amazing handsets during 2010, because truth be told, over the last few years the handsets delivered under the Sony Ericsson name have usually been one of two things, either uninspiring or unreliable! Which is a shame, because handsets like the Sony Ericsson Satio deserve to be premium products with a loyal fanbase, and quite frankly the market needs Sony Ericsson, inspiring and pushing the competition, the same way the market needs the rejuvenated Motorola to do well, keeping the likes of Nokia and HTC, LG and Samsung on their toes. The end result will be we the consumer benefit.

Trimble – Keeping Fit with Mobile Phones

Trimble continues to keep the product cycle moving with recent upgrades on the Android platform with their Outdoors product (Press release below), while continuing to iterate on the iPhone App too. The idea of being able to track your training can be of great value that in my opinion deserves more widespread use. I know a lot of runners who travel a lot on business and die for that insight into where to run and what to do when in a different city each week.

Animal Bad Boys: From Bully Fish to Alcoholic Flies

[ By Chris in Animals & Habitats , Nature & Ecosystems . ] (Images via: Fruit Fly , Blackwell Publishing , Sea Baja ) Sometimes the most seemingly quiet and docile animals can have quite the mean streak in them when provoked or influenced by their surroundings. Consider the cases of cleaner fish, damselfish and fruit flies, all of which have demonstrated bad boy behavior that goes against their typical temperaments suggesting that they “wouldn’t harm a fly.” Are Male Cleaner Fish A Bit Uptight? Big Island Divers , Conservation Report , Knol , Day Life ) Sure, cleaner fish sound all proper and pristine, but it’s apparently bad form to anger the male species of this fish when eating. Just ask female cleaner fish, who will be chastised by their male counterparts if they attach to and nibble on the mucous of larger, client fish while the males are already having themselves a bite to eat

Geek Dive: USS Vandenberg and Big Ass Radars

Above : A photo of the USS Vandenberg’s radar dish used to spy on missile launches during the cold war. Below: The same radar dishes provide an eerie giant mushroom garden of steel underwater. I was blown away when I first heard that the USS Vandenberg was officially declared “open to the public” last year. Located 140 feet below the surface, the Vandenberg was a missile tracking ship that was used to spy on Russian missile launch operations during the Cold War. For all you movie geeks, this ship played the role of the Russian vessel f or the sad 1999 action / horror film, Virus .

I will also talk about how it performs as a phone

Manage Cable Bundles with Flexi Ties

I noticed these thick flexible twistie ties while thumbing through the latest CyberGuys catalog that came in the mail the other day. These padded twists look much more elegant than the paper coated ties I sometimes use that come with trash bags. Flexi Ties are available in Black, Orange and Grey, as well as 5, 7 and 14 inch lengths
