Sprint’s HTC Supersonic WiMAX Android phone in clear photos
Remember the HTC A9292 , rumored to hit Sprint as one of its first WiMAX phones? The A9292 might be the HTC Supersonic, recently appeared in two images – a live photo and a rendering. Reportedly, the HTC Supersonic is an Android 2.1 smartphone that has features similar to the ones of the Windows Mobile-based HTC HD2: 4.3 inch WVGA touchscreen display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 1GB of internal memory (like T-Mobile’s HD2 ), and a 5MP autofocus camera. A notable difference (besides the different OS) is that the Supersonic has an OLED display, instead of a TFT one. Here’s what the HTC Supersonic looks like: It’s said that Sprint will launch the HTC Supersonic in March this year

New Keen BlackBerry Theme From Elecite
The folks over at Elecite.com com have released a new BlackBerry theme. It’s name is Keen and it offers 6-8 customizable photo icons, a weather slot, and 4-5 quick access icons along with a quick preview Today area. You can easily free up the background by clicking the close button, which will keep everything open and simple. It’s not cool to be cluttered all the time so that will come in handy. On “buttoned” BlackBerry devices, you’ll be able to push the space bar to bring up all your apps again which is cool. Storm users can just tap the screen to do so (lucky). Keen costs $6.99 and is available for all BlackBerry devices 81xx and up. Check Keen and other Elecite BlackBerry Themes out at here …

Most useless Lego machine
Inspired by the most useless machine , Karel decided to make a clone using Lego and some switches. Also, this hadn’t occurred to me until now, but this kind of machine could actually be used as a time delay, in the same manner as a monostable multivibrator . Maybe it could be used to debounce a giant switch? Read more | Permalink | Comments | Digg this!

New CF Duplicator From Nexcopy
Press Release: Nexcopy Announces New CF Duplicator Products. Today Nexcopy announced a new line of CF Duplicator solutions ranging from 15 target size to 45 target size. At first glance you think something like this is for some crazy looking to make 1000 of his photo CF cards, but that’s not actually the case. CF cards are used in all sorts of embedded applications. For example, did you know vending machines run off CF cards, so do many slot machines and cell phone towers

Journal of Serendipitous and Unexpected Results
This dude is Hans Christian Ørsted, whose 1820 discovery that electric current produced magnetic fields was, supposedly, entirely accidental: He was preparing a voltaic pile for a lecture demonstration and there happened to be a compass lying nearby. He has become a sort of mascot for the Journal of Serendipitous and Unexpected Results (JSUR) , a new open-access journal initiative that hopes to provide a forum for life and computer scientists to publish results they lucked into and maybe can’t fully explain. From their website: Can you demonstrate that: * Technique X fails on problem Y. * Hypothesis X can’t be proven using method Y. * Protocol X performs poorly for task Y.

Slightly OT: Ellen announces her own iPhone app and then gives every single audience member an iPod Touch [General]
Sigh. I hate how I was sitting at my MacBook writing about how Ellen DeGeneres released her own free iPhone app today (it’s basically a mobile site that jams all of her content into one space) and then gave every single audience member an iPod Touch instead of, you know, being one of the very lucky people to be on Ellen and suddenly receive a free iPod Touch. Then again, it would have cost me me the price of several iPod Touches just to get to Ellen’s studio, so maybe not. I’m not sure what the capacity was on those iTouches (I’m guessing 8GB), but to give a whole studio full of people free $200+ devices is one hell of a generous giveaway nonetheless. We don’t have that kind of giving power here on JAiB, but would you care for, uhh, a free wallpaper pack ?

UWB Now Becomes a Gigabit Specs, Benefits only WUSB
UWB’s fate is pretty much tied to that of Certified Wireless USB , which is only communication protocol that still depends on the said radio technology. While there are already several WUSB devices, from video / audio adapters to hard drives and docking stations , on the market, the adoption rate is a far cry from that of other USB standards. The performance of these wireless peripherals is quite discouraging with real-world transfer rate averaging at just around 15MB/s. Native WUSB hosts can remove some overhead, and likely provide some speed boost, but significant improvement will only come with new specs, just like USB 3.0 . WiMedia Alliance , believed to be in the process of disbanding, has released version 1.5 of the common radio platform specs, which in a nutshell defines the foundation for Wireless USB.

Featured iPhone wallpaper pack: ColorFresh by Aronsson [iPhone Wallpapers]
I tried to take a picture of what my iPhone screen looks like because screenshots don’t do this simple wallpaper justice. The red is actually a little lighter than what is portrayed above, but I really like the look. I’m using the wallpaper alongside the Tenuitas Winterboard theme so I can see more on my lock screen, and simply tap anywhere on the bottom to unlock. This red wallpaper is actually just one out of six in the ColorFresh pack, which you can pick up for free over on MacThemes

Frequent Flyers Rejoice: TripTracker Automagically Brings Your Travel Details to Your iPhone
Pageonce has quietly built a solid business by aggregating its user’s various online accounts into one place. They’ve got over 1.3 million registered users and recently raised a $6.5 million Series B round . And though Pageonce hardly gets neither the fame nor the fortune of its competitor (Mint) , it is still a very solid way to manage your online accounts. Unlike Mint, which focuses on personal finances, Pageonce’s goal is to provide you with a one-stop view of all of your online accounts, including financial, travel, e-mail and social networking. Though a single web interface for all of those accounts may be unnecessary, it is a perfect service for mobile devices.

Review update: Vaja ivolution GT [iPhone Case Reviews]
My simple black and white Vaja ivolution GT case (review here ) has seen a fair amount of use over the past few months. I tend to switch cases every now and then just to change the appearance and texture of my iPhone, and the Vaja always makes the device feel like an absolutely premium slice of mobile tech. The leather smell is no longer as pungent, and I like it a lot more now.

MiLi Power Skin iPhone Battery Case – Review
The MiLi Power Skin Battery Case , is a new battery charger case that works with the iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, and according to the manufacturers it is the ‘worlds thinnest iPhone case with battery charger’. The case is pretty thin, measuring just 18mm at its thickest point, and it is definitely the thinnest we have tested so far. When you place your iPhone in the case you notice just how thin it is compared to other models available. The case is comes in two parts which clip together to protect your iPhone,as you can see in the photo below, it is very easy to use, just slide your iPhone into the case and then put the top part of the case on.
