Techcrunch posted today on a fascinating rumor/theory about the Apple Tablet. They claim that Barnes and Noble may have struck a deal to be the “official” bookstore for the Tablet ecosystem. This, of course, contradicts reports of Apple dealing directly with publishers, as well as the Macrumors report that Apple did not want middlemen involved in their ebookstore

iriver Unleashes Black Hello Kitty Swarovski Laden MP3 Player
So Hello Kitty is too pink for you, eh? Hey, we can totally agree with that sentiment. Many of us prefer black over pink, yet we still have a fondness for Hello Kitty. The new Hello Kitty Music Player Premium DX might be perfect for those of you who agree with that sentiment.
We’ll ask it again, why aren’t we building our own printers? We’re building 3d printers , CNC mills , and hacking the ink cartridges on commercial printers. What does it really take to build say a 300 dpi black and white printer? Something that lets you clean and service the print head rather than throwing it out when the ink reservoir is empty?
Leak Roundup: HTC Supersonic for Sprint, a WiMax-fueled Android beast
When it comes to leaks in the gadget world, when it rains, it pours. In just shy of 20 days, the HTC Supersonic — an absolute beast of a phone — went from non-existent to deeply detailed and fully photographed. Four Years Later Will I Finally Get My Ideal UMPC?
Oh, who am I kidding. I’m downright giddy about Apple’s announcement tomorrow. Yes, it’s possible that we’ll just see a new iPhone operating system or an upgrade to the Apple TV but with all of the buzz this time around that would be rather surprising
Anticipation is rampant for the upcoming Apple Tablet set to debut tomorrow in San Francisco, and nowhere is it more apparent than with application developers. Beyond game developers chomping at the bit to get their hands on the new tablet, a new survey suggest there’s greater interest in developing other types of large screen-capable apps as well. Appcelerator, maker of a development platform for mobile and desktop apps, published results indicating that 90 percent of developers surveyed plan to develop an app for the upcoming Apple Tablet within the first year. When asked whether they were “very interested” in building apps for a platform, 58 percent of respondents said “yes” when asked about the tablet, placing it behind the iPhone and Google Android, but far ahead of other platforms like BlackBerry, Palm Pre, and Windows Mobile
LG’s Serie 1 Retro Classic TV doesn’t just look like an old CRT television, it is an old CRT television . Except they’re new . Old technology, new product. It’s confusing, I know! The set features a 14-inch diagonal screen, complete with rabbit-ear antennae and chrome legs. It even has old-school knobs for changing channels and adjusting volume.
There’s a warm place in our hearts for the original Nintendo Entertainment System. It’s too bad we don’t have that hardware sitting around anymore. But if you do there’s a chance it needs some TLC and there’s always room for a blue LED mod. [Raph] has a wonderful collection of NES hardware repairs and hacks that you should take a look at. These include replacing the power supply, fixing the cartridge connector, monkeying with the CIC chip , adding a reset button on the controller, converting the audio from mono to stereo, and yes, swapping in a blue LED
Google offers 3G fix for Nexus One, puts a little blame on T-Mobile coverage
Nothing upsets geeks more than grabbing a gadget the moment it becomes available only to find issues with it. Google feels your pain when it comes to your 3G connectivity woes on the Nexus One. Currently, Google is in the process of testing a software fix and the results look promising. Assuming everything gets sorted and fixed on Google’s end, the software update will become available via an OTA download.
HTC Bravo shows its Android UI in new hands-on photo
The same day when images of Sprint’s HTC Supersonic popped up on the Web, a new photo of the HTC Bravo has appeared, too – a hands-on photo, to be precise. As previously reported, the HTC Bravo kind of resembles the Google Nexus One , although it has more hardware buttons and the trackball has been replaced with an optical trackpad. Apparently, the features of HTC Bravo include a 3.7 inch AMOLED WVGA multi-touch display, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, 512MB of RAM, 5MP camera with HD video recording , Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 1GHz processor, and Android 2.1. HTC Bravo should be available starting March, and T-Mobile UK might be among the first carriers to sell it. Komorkomania says that the new Bravo photo was sent by a reader alongside some info about the HTC Legend (nothing we didn’t know already, save for the fact that the Legend seems to have an aluminum case and a camera lens cover) – so both devices will probably be announced pretty soon.
Body Shots!: Body Scan Comparison Of 250 Pound Woman Versus 120 Pound Woman
Looks like the larger of the two just had a fairly significant meal as well. Just sayin’, give it a couple hours and she’ll only be a 246 pounder. Also, I highly don’t recommend it but if you look hard enough I think you can make out their vaginas. So, yeah — have fun with that. Body Scans of two Women: 250lb vs 120lb [boredpanda] Thanks to Jiakasuma, who makes body scans look gooood .

In other news, Google has managed to bypass the App Store (and its approval process) and release its much-lauded Google Voice app to the iPhone and webOS devices via an HTML5-based web app. Per Engadget , the app should work with any HTML5-compliant device, although the formatting at this point has been tailored to Apple and Palm’s platforms. The app, which can be found at http://m.google.com/voice , caches your contacts list in a browser page and allows users to write SMS messages, check their your inbox, and, in future versions, listen to voicemails
HTC Bravo caught on camera (again), HTC Legend caught in words
Man, these HTC Bravos are floating around everywhere. A semi-decent shot of this oh-so-Nexus-One-esque Android handset leaked just yesterday , and today another (markedly better) shot has found its way to the interwebs. Not only that, but it brought a friend! According to the whisper train, HTC was showing off the Bravo at a gathering of some sort in Poland
Being in my mid to late thirties, I can remember life before mobile phones . So it never fails to amuse me when I hear from people, who are of a similar age to me, who have to be parted from their phones for a few days. It amuses me, not because I enjoy seeing people upset, but it invokes in me the thought of how we used to cope before mobile came into being
Regardless of how annoying he might be, David Blaine’s TEDMED talk on how he set the world record for holding his breath underwater for 17 minutes is pretty phenomenal. Definitely interesting to see the different ways he thought of to do it as an illusion, using various technological methods and DIY gadgets, before finally deciding that he would do it for real. This one is definitely worth watching, and also worth not trying at home. It’s kind of ridiculous.

Nokia announces a 16GB X6, “Comes With Music” not included
We knew Nokia was preppin’ something for launch today, thanks to some loose lipped execs – but what would it be? Announcing something just one day before a much hyped Apple announcement is always risky; either Nokia thought the product was a big enough deal to overshadow Apple’s goods, or it was small enough that they weren’t too worried about it. Looks like it’s closer to the latter. Nokia’s announcement for today?
