E-book price war Amazon Vs. Macmillan Books

The New York Times notes that books from Macmillan, one of the largest U.S. publishers, have been removed from Amazon.com. The post says that Amazon made the move in a disagreement over pricing. The publisher has asked Amazon to lift e-book prices to around $15 from $9.99. “Amazon is expressing its strong disagreement by temporarily removing Macmillan books,” the Times reports.

Steve Jobs,"Next iPhone Update is A+; Flash is buggy, HTML 5 is the Future"

Apple’s Tablet, the iPad, was one of the most anticipated device of 2010 (2010 has just started by the way so there are many more to come from other guys). When Steve Jobs launched the iPad on Jan 27 2010, the whole Internet came to a stand still and everybody was busy tracking, live blogging, tweeting, facebooking the event. Along with the iPad there was a rumor that Apple would be launching an upgraded version of the iPhone OS but as it was a iPad dedicated event no news came on that from

Question for those Early-Adopters of the iPad….

The big question for those early-adopters of the iPad: Which version are you going to buy? Whether you are going the thrifty 16gb route or getting the 3G 64gb Cadillac, I’m just curious which one you are going to buy and why? Also, are you going to skip work to stand in line or wait until after the insanity subsides before braving the trip to your local Apple Store?

Stephen Colbert rocks the Grammys with an Apple iPad

We didn’t think we’d see an iPad surface so soon… If you were keeping up with the Grammys, you were probably just as shocked as we were when Stephen Colbert pulled one out to present Song of the Year. And of course, the iPad’s cameo wouldn’t be complete without a little gloating from Colbert himself. “Jay Z, did you not get one of these in your gift bag? Am I cooler than you?!” Bravo, Stephen Colbert

The TomTom Ease , announced at CES, is now shipping from Amazon, available in a Red bezel. The Ease offers a redesigned interface to put a lot of information at your fingertips, with a quick Plan Route and Browse Map pair of icons to make the decision process pretty easy. I mean how many people start up the GPS and right away think, “Hey, I want to change the map color scheme?” Not many – almost everyone wants to see where they are or program in where to go. There are other smart icons at the bottom, including flipping to a night view (or back to day view) and an options button where you can play with settings. At Amazon the TomTom EASE

New Release: SnowCover Pro 1.0, gesture-based playback controls on your iPhone lockscreen [Jailbreak Apps]

[ Update : there's now a version 1.1 of SnowCover Pro with an extra corkboard theme, though it's a little buggy right now, so I'd suggest you wait until February 1st to try the app out. Version 1.1 keeps telling me I have a cracked copy (Untrue - I bought the app myself) and the volume indicator takes about three seconds to show up.

Adesso CyberPad Digital Notepad unboxing

While at CES 2010 I dropped by the Adesso booth.  During my tour of the booth and with all the tablet fascination at CES, the “Adesso CyberPad Digital Notepad” caught my eye.   The CyberPad is an electronic tablet upon which a standard 8-1/2” X 11” paper pad rests.  When the CyberPad pen/stylus is used to write or draw on the paper pad, the CyberPad captures what is written or drawn and electronically stores that information on the device.  Later, the device can be connected to a PC and what has been captured can then be stored and/or distributed in typical PC fashion. While I plan to conduct a full review of the device in the next few weeks, what follows here is my unboxing of the device.
