Security skeptics less skeptic about iPhone
Better security is changing iPhone's image in IT departments. While the iPhone’s “cool factor” has made it a hit among status conscious corporate executives, the mopho has been greeted with skepticism from the rank and file in the IT trenches. From their point of view, competing products like Research in Motion’s Blackberry and smartphones built on Microsoft’s Windows Mobile platform offer better security for their organizations. With the introduction of the latest version of the iPhone’s operating system, version 3.0, and iPhone Configuration Utility, version 2.0, IT resistance to letting Apple’s handset into the corporate tent seems to be weakening . What has bugged IT folks in the past about the iPhone?

The Apple iPhone is probably the handset that generates the most chatter on the web. Anything and everything regarding the iPhone is eagerly lapped up by fans of the device, and Apple do a good job of capitalising on this. Recently, though, the most talked about phone is a handset that may not even exist, the fabled Google Phone . There is a lot of talk about the possibility of Google producing their own handset, hardware and firmware, and has been for years now

How to edit Active Notes on PC
Active Notes steps into the breach, with a full multi-media friendly way of organizing your thoughts, media and even contacts. Although such a ‘rich’ tool isn’t going to synchronize to anything else, the content IS portable, by virtue of Active Notes storing all information within a standard HTML and folder framework. Which means that you can then move it across to any other computer in the known universe and view the content in more or less the same way. Let’s see how this works in practice

N900: Day 1. A New Hope?
As I mentioned back in August, I’m of the opinion that the N900 is the most important Nokia device since the 7650. The smartphone was a pleasant way of getting a limited computing experience in the palm of my hand, but I wanted more and so I chose the iPhone as my main device. Does the N900 have what it takes to win me back over to the Nokia fold full time? Over the next couple of weeks I intend to ‘experience’ every aspect of the N900. This review is going to be a little different from the others I’ve posted here over the years.

Gartner now predicts sales in 2010 will show a 9% increase from 2009.

Read Receipt Requests and Junk Email
If you have set up Outlook to use Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) and also read receipts then you may have some users who will report errors or problems related to junk email. A read receipt is a tracking mechanism that allows the sender to request a receipt indicating that the recipient has received and read their email message. The recipient has the option to acknowledge receipt and/or that the email message has also been read. Whether or not the sender receives that receipt is not only dependent on the recipient’s acknowledgement but more so on the email server, specifically the email server’s support of read receipts.
