Will Twitter break the lists limit, and let you list more than 500?

As individuals start the dividing their Twitter Following sections into lists, companies specialising in social media are going even deeper and one – SimplyZesty have decided to split up Twitter users by country. Currently limited by the amount of users you can have in one list (500 at the minute) this isn’t going to be terribly useful until Twitter changes the rules. Will they?

There Are Probably More BlackBerry Storm Users Than You Think

An interesting report from ComScore on Touchscreen Mobile Phone Adoption came out yesterday and a few things in the report kind of surprised me. Touchscreen mobile phone adoption grew at a blistering rate up 159% .  Nothing really shocking about that. The iPhone dominates  the market with 32.9% market share .  Yeah, yeah… Sounds about right. The BlackBerry sits in 4th place with 7% of the market, only 1.7% behind the number 2 LG Dare and 0.8% behind the 3rd place LG Voyager

Matte for Men Skin Care Products Review

When Julie asked me to review the Matte for Men line of skin care products, I jumped at the chance.   After all, I’m a man and I have skin so I satisfy both of the system requirements.  Add into that a search over the last 18 years for skin care products that would spare me from the acne and shiny skin with which I’ve been cursed and there was no way I’d refuse.  Of course, being the first to write such a review on a site dedicated to all things technology, I’m on unfamiliar ground with no real guide on how to approach this sort of thing! I’m not sure if I should feel like a trailblazer or a canary in a mineshaft about this, but let’s go for it anyhow, shall we? … [ visit site to read more ] Filed in categories: Home Tech Tagged: Health , Men Matte for Men Skin Care Products Review originally appeared on The Gadgeteer on November 4, 2009 at 9:39 am.

HTC’s HD2 now shipping in Europe and Asia, confirmed for the U.S. in 2010

Our readers in both Europe and Asia have reason to smile this morning, as HTC has at long last announced that the highly anticipated successor to the Touch HD has finally begun shipping. Citizens in Europeans will be able to pick up the HD2 in the next few days while our Asian brothers and sisters will see a gradual rollout staring in a weeks time. As for the majority of our readers, Americans, HTC has formally confirmed what we reported one month ago when the device was first announced — the HD2 will be making its way to “a major US carrier” in early 2010. The only mystery is which carrier could HTC possibly be referring to. Hmm… Read

Mickey Mouse USB HUB Glows in the Dark

I’m sure it doesn’t have the official Disney stamp of approval but nonetheless the Disney Mickey USB Hub will connect up to 4 devices at t he same time. The kicker is that  ‘Mickey’s Head’ will light up and its colors will change when connected to a computer. I guess this makes for a unique lightshow if you use your computer in the dark. The Disney Mickey USB 4 Port Hub retails for $20 at Brando and is available in red or white.

Brave New World Lamp Loves its Bamboo

I wouldn’t suggest holding a candle near this lamp. The Brave New World Lamp started as a concept piece of ramdom “thought-initiated construction” and was first available in Europe and now is finally available stateside. Constructed out of bamboo without an actually plan in mind. It was created by just carefully applying pieces of wood together to form a shape which eventually became a lamp. It supports a max of 20W and retails for $3214

Some MacBook, MacBook Pro Users Report Overheating Under Snow Leopard

A number of MacBook and MacBook Pro users are reporting that their systems running inordinately hot after upgrading to Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard, causing their fans to work exceptionally loud. According to CNET , users in this thread on the Apple Support Discussions forums focus the issue primarily on MacBook Pros, though some scattered entries from MacBook owners suggest the issues may be noticed in many of Apple’s notebooks. Users’ machines tend to run extremely hot, causing the fans to cycle at a high rate and deplete battery power at an accelerated clip

Play a Game, Win a Sony Cyber-shot TX1

Looks like Sony’s really pushing the Cyber-shot TX1 , the new flagship of its “ultra-thin” compact series. Or at least they’re doing so in Asia, complete with the “Love the Night” tag line and “Lucky in Love” contest , both attempts to highlight the camera’s low-light and panorama shot abilities. “Lucky in Love” mainly involves a Flash-game where players have to drag and rotate a series of photos to create a panoramic shot. It’s a pretty straightforward yet cumbersome game: not only do players have to properly align images as much as possible, they are also under time pressure

AT&T Files Suit Over Verizon “Map” Ads

Ad campaigns will always be snarky, but there are some areas you don’t want crossed. Per AppleInsider , AT&T has filed suit over Verizon’s “There’s a Map for That” advertising campaign, claiming Verizon is misrepresenting AT&T’s coverage areas. The suit seeks a temporary restraining order and a injunction to stop Verizon from “disseminating misleading coverage maps” of AT&T’s areas of cellular and data coverage. AT&T is also seeking damages in the suit.

The Beatles: on an Apple-shaped USB stick – but still not Spotify

You can’t get the Beatles on Spotify but you can – just in time for Christmas – get the Beatles back catalogue on an apple-shaped USB stick. Apple Records, the label the Beatles set up, have packed 14 stereo albums, 13 mini-documentary films about the albums, album art and copies of rare photos on this novelty USB, based on the label’s logo. It’s not cheap though… it’s a cool £200 for the USB stick.

Confirmed: Verizon Wireless to charge up to $350 early termination on “advanced devices”

Here’s what Big Red is working with: they’ve offered up a BOGO sale on all new BlackBerrys for the holiday buying season, and where some see a great deal, others see a great opportunity. Why not play a game of Flip My BlackBerry ? Why not open a second line, get a brand new Tour or Storm 2, pay the cancellation fee on the new line of $175, and sell the device on eBay for $300 or more

webOS to get UI speed bump in the near future

Palm has recently leaked out quite a few interesting things regarding webOS in the past. The latest interesting leak was at an UK developer event… A report on ajaxian contains the following quote: … On ease of use, multitasking has been great; UI latency is still an issue even though the hardware is comparable to 3GS. The problem is the path to the GPU didn’t exist, but now with CSS transforms, that will be solved in the immediate future … As of now, this is all we know.

HTC launches the HD2 in Europe and Asia, reconfirms stateside availability in early 2010

Seeing as HTC’s CEO Peter Chou sorta slipped up and mentioned this back in October, it’s not exactly, you know, news news – but just in case you were a little bit shaky on the dates, HTC has gone ahead and confirmed that the 1 Ghz, WinMo 6.5-powered HTC HD2 will be coming to the United States “with a major US carrier in early 2010.

Sony Ericsson Timescape, Mediascape SDK in 2010; UX interface coming to Symbian

The entry of Sony Ericsson into the Android scene with the debut of the XPERIA X10 is truly worth celebrating. However, what’s even more exciting is news that their new UX interface and Mediascape and Timescape apps won’t be exclusive to this particular XPERIA phone only. Electricpig got a chance to chat with Steve Walker, head of Sony Ericsson Portfolio Planning, and he revealed that the UX interface will actually be released on their future Symbian-based devices as well. Here’s what he shares about their new offerings, and the Android and Symbian platform: We do intend products on Android and on Symbian. The intention is to not be specifically related to one particular platform…it’s not the right time to bet on any particular horse

Nokia N97 Unboxing and Pictures

Wanted to check out the Nokia N97 in and out from the day it was launched. Its a flagship touch screen device running the Symbian S60 5th Edition OS and is the big brother of the Nokia 5800. Thanks to the guys from WOM World, I finally got the Nokia N97 to play around with. The device which i have got is loaded with Firmware 2.0 that was released by Nokia in October 2009. As promised the upgrade looks promising and there is kinetic scrolling but not as great as the iPhone (but feature wise it beats the iPhone left, right and center).

Google Hard at Work on Android 2.1

I personally love to see a tech company always a step or two ahead of itself. Google is rumored to be in such a position, currently hard at work at version 2.1 of its Android mobile OS even though version 2.0 won’t officially be out until Friday. It really shouldn’t be a surprise to too many Android fans, considering the short turnaround time between 1.6 and 2.0. It’s natural to assume Google would already be hard at work getting the next available version ready for developers as soon as possible. This ability to quickly update definitely can be a sign of a healthy mobile OS with a load of potential.

Study Shows Touchscreen Adoption Growing at Exponential Rate in USA

Think back to last year’s holiday season. Does it seem as though there are several more touchscreen phones available or announced this year than there were last year? It’s not an illusion; according to comScore there are 24 million touchscreen devices in use within the United States, a 159 percent growth year-over-year from last year at this time. That is a huge rate of expansion for a US cell phone market that has historically been slower to adopt new trends and technology than overseas markets in Asia or Europe

Sony Ericsson Joins the Google’s Android Party – Launch Its First Google Phone

Sony Ericsson today announced its first Google phone called Sony Ericsson Xperia 10, which looks pretty much like the regular version of Sony Ericsson Xperia . The Xperia 10 will feature a huge 4-inch LCD touch screen, 8.1-megapixel digital camera, and is powered by 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Sony Ericsson hopes that Xperia 10 will help to regain market share of high-end smartphones, which Sony Ericsson is losing to Apple , BlackBerry , and HTC . It is kind of disappointing that the Xperia will only go on sales in early 2010, while Motorola Droid is available 3 days later on November 6.
