Samsung Bada handset is to be declared first half of 2010
We’re still not fully convinced why Samsung thinks the requirement to introduce its own mobile phone operating system while until now cranking out Windows and Android Mobile devices, however it seems akin to matter is going to its full extent ahead: a talking head of Samsung told CNET Asia at present that a Bada mobile phone would reach you in the first six months of 2010. Certainly, that gives impression like a big time off, but in fact it’s only six months subsequent to the big Bada SDK divulge in December, consequently we’ll need to see if that’s adequate time for developers in Samsung to sort out things and launch any apps.

The N900: Now you see it, now you don’t I’ve found myself asking this question many, many times in the past 2 months. But according to an official Nokia press release today, the N900 is “now on sale in the United States.” That’s a pretty deceptive statement, however. Try as I might, I could not locate a single N900 anywhere in the United States. Amazon, Buy.com, and Dell are still taking preorders for the device, yet haven’t updated the open availability, nor are customers getting any reliable answers through customer service.

The Mobile Marketing Association redefined “mobile marketing” this week at the Mobile Marketing Forum in Los Angeles. Here’s the new official definition: “Mobile marketing is a set of practices that enables organizations to communicate and engage with their audience in an interactive and relevant manner through any mobile device or network.” I love the MMA’s new definition because it encompasses all the different tools of mobile marketing that are available today and those that will become available. Also, it brings up two very important concepts: communication and engagement. After all, if a mobile phone isn’t about communication we’ve really missed the boat.

Millennial Media, the leading mobile ad-network who just scored a $16M round of funding , has released its October “SMART” report, or “Scorecard for Mobile Advertising Reach and Targeting.” This month’s report includes a special section dedicated to analyzing the reach, platforms and CTR data associated with mobile apps. Though you can probably guess who dominates the mobile app landscape, the data still includes some interesting tidbits. According to the report, Apple dominated the number of total apps year-to-date with 115,00, as well as total app downloads with 100M. In addition, Apple users downloaded roughly 11 apps per month- three times more than Android users and six times more than Blackberry users. More interesting though, was that while Apple led with the most entertainment and book apps year-to-date, Android dominated the games category with 32 percent of apps. In terms of total app downloads, the Android platform accounted for some 20M, while Blackberry users only downloaded 300K. While Apple’s downloads are still five times that of Androids, it still shows how quickly Android is catching on
Today we got to play around with the recently announced Sony Ericsson Xperia X10, which is their very first Android powered handset. Of all the Android handsets that have been released or announced so far, the Xperia X10 seems to have the best U.I. enhancements for music and multimedia though its MediaScape interface. Also, its 4 inch high-res 800 x 480 display is superb, and will make browsing the web and watching videos that much more enjoyable. In person, the device isn’t as big as we had imagined it would be considering it’s packing a 4 inch display

Fortunately Casio’s new EX-G1 is here to rescue you. The 12.1 megapixel is just .78 inches thick, with a 2.5″ LCD, and a 3X zoom, yet it still manages to be super tough. And you can be confident that Casio knows how to make rugged products, after all they are behind the G-shock line of watches
It was barely a month ago that we re-reviewed TwitterBerry . We originally reviewed it in early 2008, but the company behind it, Orangatame, brought it up to date, adding many features that users demanded. Unfortunately, TwitterBerry is no more. Orangatame has changed the name to OpenBeak in hopes that it “allows the app to grow beyond both the Twitter platform and BlackBerry smartphones.” With the name change comes a few new features, including two that I had complained about in the TwitterBerry review.
