Video How to: Redownload Applications from the Ovi Store (and other content!) version 1.05 (387)
Redownloading lost content from the Ovi Store was once a major hurdle. From not being able to at all to having to contact support to email you back with a 2-hour window in which you can download your app. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogexvJI6EY8 Via NokiaConversations Now (as it should have been all along) you can redownload your paid applications!: go into “My Stuff” within the Ovi Store app (Left of the recommended bar – this is “My Download History” view of all content; apps, videos, wallpapers, themes and ringtones, Free and Paid) and just redownload your purchased applications (No longer does it say “Purchase” for your purchased apps, you can redownload your paid apps as you wish.) You have to make sure that you have the latest 1.05 (387). You’ll get an automatic prompt to update Ovi Store when you start the Ovi Store App. As you can see from the screenshots below, there are way too many clicks for an update when really it should just be one click.

Philips uses a large light box that simulates a natural sunrise with light that gradually comes on starting 30 minutes before your alarm is set to go off. Philips claims the clocks are clinically proven to have an impact on the quality of awakening. After the 30-minute light period, the device can wake you to sounds or music. Sounds the devices offer include chirping birds, gentle beep, African jungle sounds, or soft chimes. The iPod version of the device can wake you to FM radio or playlists from your iPod as well.

Sony Ericsson Satio: Consumers get a 1000 mAh battery while employees get 1350 mAh
Steve O’Hear is in London this week for the 2009 Symbian Exchange and Exposition and had a brief sit down with Anders Westin, Head of Software Relations, Sony Ericsson ( NYSE: SNE ). Several questions were asked, mainly concerning Sony Ericsson’s current portfolio which spans every single smartphone operating system under the sun, including, hopefully, Android 2.0 on the XPERIA X3 , but the kicker was Steve asking Anders why the Sony Ericsson Satio had such a piss poor battery. The Satio , for those unfamiliar with the device, has a 3.5 inch touch screen, runs Symbian S60 5th Edition and has a 12 megapixel camera

Team Alpha: All the Mutant-Shooting Action You Can Handle
Team Alpha is a shoot-em-up, action game where, according to Sad Cat Software, your task “is to eradicate all mutants in a government lab where a secret biological experiment has gone awry.” The app offers nearly 200 rooms of mutant-shooting mania with big guns. Good times. You’ll get a top-down view as you navigate from room to room. The graphics are crisp, with your typical monsters and mutants color scheme. Runnin’ and gunnin’ isn’t usually my thing, so I was concerned that I would have a tough time testing Team Alpha.

Gmail for iPhone gets ‘never-ending’ compose box [del.icio.us]
Even with the most practiced digits, composing long e-mail on the iPhone's virtual keyboard is the slow, awkward pits compared with typing on a desktop keyboard. However, Google released a small new feature on Monday just for long-winded iPhone e-mail authors that makes typing lengthy Gmail messages easier on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Before, the composition box was fixed. Starting today, verbose e-mailers will see blank lines appear below the cursor as you reach the bottom of the window. If there's a limit to how many lines you can add in a Gmail message, we haven't found it yet

IBM Debuts Food Traceability iPhone App [del.icio.us]
Today at the IBM Information on Demand event, IBM will demo a new app that will bring the Internet of Things to the iPhone. The as yet unreleased iPhone app is called Breadcrumbs and it will give consumers access to information about grocery food items. The app will be able to scan barcodes and deliver a summary of the ingredients in a food item, along with when it was manufactured. That data is usually on the food label, but Breadcrumbs goes a step further – it can provide extra information such as product recall data
