Philips has announced a new Xenium device known as X520, which provides power backup using standard lithium AAA batteries. Philips is not really renowned for making high end mobile devices but it does introduce devices that provide more battery power than any other mobile devices available in the market. The X520 itself supports up to 8 hours of talk time and up to a month of standby time but thanks to a new technology called 'Backupower', it can provide up to 2.5 hours of additional talk time and up to one week of additional standby time with a standard lithium AAA ………
Global Economy to slow this year, will recover on 2010
European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet predicted that the year 2009 will be a gloomy year for global economy but will make a recovery comes 2010. In general, central bankers were still keen to make sure inflation expectations remained solidly anchored, he said. Yeap, we have another unannounced phone leake here one more member of the Cyber-shot family – Sony Ericsson C903 – recently known as Sony Ericsson Frances. Well, what we can say about this phone. First of all, at last, after those copy/paste designs C903 will be something different. It will be equipped with 5MP camera with Auto focus and of course all Cyber-shot stuff like: Face detection, Smile Shutter, PhotoFix, aGPS for geotagging and e.t.c., active lens cover, 2.4 inch display with 320×240 pixels and the form-factor of the device will be a slider. So in a fact, for February we are waiting for announcement of the Sony Ericsson W395 , Sony Ericsson C901 and from now on – Sony Ericsson C903..

Well, those were my first thoughts when I laid my eyes on the new Nokia 5730 XpressMusic . The guys over at mobile-reviews got their hands on a Nokia 5730 and promptly made a partial review of the phone. The QWERTY slide-out keyboard is a nice touch, especially with its dot matrix font, but seems a bit out-of-place in my opinion

Should the design of the user interface be outsourced?
Many in the software industry are reluctant to outsource the design of their applications, and by design I mean the overall usability (look-and-feel, navigation, user experience, etc.). I do not have a definite answer, but I have learned one thing: BEWARE! While it makes total sense to have the back-end of the application developed offshore (whether outsourced or not), it is critical to carefully double check, when not triple check what the real design capabilities of your potential offshore provider are, if you do not want to end up with applications that are just unusable ! SMBs usually call existing references before selecting an outsourcing provider. Make sure design capability is one of your “must ask” questions. The reference certainly knows whether your provider has decent design capabilities or not
